cant install on windows 10 - jazzaviator - 23-07-2016
I just bought a new computer and it wont let me install FSX. I keep getting a 1607 error - unable to install installshield scripting runtime. I've done a search and tried doing some other things to help out, but it still doesnt seem to want to install for me. any thoughts?

Did you do what was prescribed in the Microsoft directions? Or, is that one part of the other things you tried? Seems you may have some corrupted system files.

so, I used the above method a few weeks back and it did work. cost me $40, but it did work.

Why did it cost you 40 clams? Did you have to contact Microsoft directly for help?

had to buy the repair utility since there was no restore point set on the computer. the computer I just bought was a refurbished computer and was wiped completely.

That stinks, but at least you now have FSX

yeah. it does seem to work, but I still have to re-install all of my previous payware. I'm not sure I still have all the activation codes... sad face. I was able to get my ERJ175 downloaded again, but all of my others are still MIA
