PAN versus MAYDAY - huskydude02 - 15-06-2016

Hi,

If this has been asked before, sorry, but I need to know the keyboard input to issue a PAN Emergency.

I know that MAYDAY is Ctrl+Shift+M and Squawk 7700 (or 75 or 76), how do you issue a PAN Emergency?

Currently flying over Washington State and my NAV, BCN, and STROBE lights have failed...

Thanks, Husky  Huh

And yes, I've tried to fix the lights, no joy... "Carenado C206" using FSPassengersX

if it is ifr conditions then it is a mayday that you declare. i just use the button on the minipanel and let fsp choose which it does

SamTDS,

Thanks, does FSP advise the pilot to Squawk 7700, 76 or 75 for a PAN?  I know in a bona fide MAYDAY you need to.  Hate to activate the Emergency Button for burned out lights only to be advised that it wasn't an emergency or better yet, pilot forgot to Squawk the appropriate 7 Code.

Lastly, though an artificiality, perhaps FSP could be programmed to accept a 7800 for a PAN and treat it as such.

Thoughts?

Warmest regards, Husky

Husky, FsP does not advise anything regarding squawk codes. It doesn't have any ATC functions. Typically when you notice a small electrical problem during a flight, you switch off the nav light and things should go back to normal. No emergency at all.
As far as programming 7800 as a possible code, Dan would have to comment about this.

JoeFlyer,

Copy, but my during last flight, I tried turning the lights off and then back on.  No NAV, STROBE, or BEACON - but I did have LANDING and TAXI and PANEL.  So I monitored all other things electrical - no issues noted, so I pressed on to KPDX.

BTW, I was not penalized for not declaring an emergency, but... FSP docked me points for not using the NAV Lights.  Okay, whatever.  Any one you can walk away from is a good landing.

Warmest regards, Husky   Top
