Trial Download on 4/3/2016 - HondaJet - 04-04-2016

I just installed the software today (4/3/2016) after downloading the current P3D version of your software.  When I try to make a flight I get the aircraft, date/time and airport set and then receive your welcome screen.   The first time I printed the document then I try to close the window and every attempt crashes P3D (4 so far). Every aircraft I tried to load crashed as soon as I tried to close your welcome window.
I tried to imagine what might cause this and wonder if your program has a conflict with FS2Crew? I have it for several aircraft, PMDG 737 NGX and de Havilland Dash 8 by Majestic.

I have the latest release of P3D v3.3 (3.2.3.16769) which I recently updated from v3.2 using the client.msi and content.msi + Cont1.cab and have been flying it for a week with no problems.

Is there an update to your P3D version or a patch somewhere that I have overlooked in my search through these forums that I need to install to make the demo work?
Thanks for any help you can provide.  I really would like to test it out on my system before purchase.
Jerry

There has been some issues with FS2 Crew and FsP due to reaching the max number of windows displayed.
In Dan's development blog, he mentioned that you should get a special dialogue when using FS2 Crew with FsP. Apparently this special dialogue is
suppose to take care of the panel.cfg issue. Since I don't use Fs2 Crew, that's about as far as I can take the subject.
Are you not getting the special dialogue at all?

The FS2Crew seems to be a deadend. I have tried several aircraft without it now and they do the same thing.
I can load the aircraft, time, location in P3D and once everything loads up I get the FSPassengers welcome window. That is as far as I can get.
I never get into the actual aircraft. As soon as I try to close the FSPassengers Welcome window the sim crashes.

I am going to try a fresh download and see if that helps, however, the install looked perfectly normal.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jerry

I pulled another download today and after uninstalling the old copy from P3D v3.3 I installed the new file to my P3D v3.3 (3.2.3.16769).

That seems to have fixed the problem. I was able to close the FSPassengers welcome window and am now in the aircraft.
And I see the FsPassengers menu in the sim.

Moving on to some test flights.

I found out that if I try to use KSFO per the instructions for trial users it would crash my sim every time. I do use FTX Global and their N. California region scenery but no detailed KSFO scenery. I tried flying out of KOAK from the list in your instructions and that did not crash the sim but I was not able to do simple things like open my door. Instead of opening the door I got some voice response. It seems that FsPassengers conflicts with a lot of command presets I have setup in P3D.

I think my trial has hit enough problems that I am going to call an end to this frustration; no purchase for me.

If you look in the general settings of FsP, you can edit or remove any key mappings that may conflict with your other FSX key maps. I've had to do this as well. Sometimes other addons will have their own key maps that will certainly conflict. You just have to figure out which ones. It's not that many key maps in FsP. Sorry you are frustrated with it but the program is worth the effort.

RE: Trial Download on 4/3/2016 - HondaJet - 05-04-2016

Thank you for the tips Joeflyer. I installed it again and am testing a few flights today which have been a little more promising. The first one was in a C207 but the trim would not work at all for this flight. When I tried the autopilot the Nav did work but altitude did not. There were some strange goings on during this 30 minute flight for the C207 which is normally rock solid in my sim. The next one I did was in the turbo duke. It was much better so maybe things are starting to settle down a bit.
I'll do a few more test flights before making any purchase decision.

Regarding the KSFO sim crashes when closing the welcome window, I am now able to start at KSFO without crashing after I turned off the welcome window. I was able to do this by starting at KOAK, shutting off the welcome window and then loading KSFO for departure.
This might be something DanSteph would want to look into for the P3D version.

One question for you, will I be able to use the va config file for my phpVMS VA to send flights to my logbook there. Will that function work in the demo or must I have the paid version before I can test this out?

I like the functions of FSPassengers so I hope it will become more stable with my sim so I can depend on it.
Thanks for the help.

Jerry, you should be able to disable the welcome window upon start up by checking "do not show this message again" or something to that effect. I never have it showing in P3D or FSX.
You could load the VA .cfg file in the FsP folder for VAs and see if it will work for you, but you are limited on where you get to fly from in the demo. Buying the license will afford you the ability to fly out of any airport.
