Passengers max number? - Merlin59 - 16-03-2016

I have just started a newer company in fspassengers. I decided to use Flight 1's BN-2 islander. Great little airplane by the way. I started my company in Tahiti for some shorter island hopping runs. This leads me to two questions if someone could help. First is there a penalty for taking off overweight? Not severely but some. I mean other than the obvious handling issues. Next is there a problem with not taking all the passengers at the gate? The bn-2 has a very limited capacity and sometimes the 9 passengers and there luggage just won't fit. Where as if I could only take say eight I would have enough room. Will fspassengers penalize me for not taking all nine? Thanks for any help.

fsp doesnt penalise for missed passenegers i think, about the overweight takeoff you are doing what the caa would hate.

Thanks for the reply. Good to know fspassengers won't penalize me for leaving them standing. I'd rather not fly overweight if I didn't have to. However the islander does seem to handle it fairly well unlike some other planes. My company rating is good and high. Does fspassengers always give you the max passengers with a high rating or does it vary? Would be nice to see some variance. Thanks again! I don't think the faawould a prove either.

Hi Merlin,

In anyway taking-off overweight is a no go, you took the good decision, see:
http://www.fspassengers.com/?action=faq&ver=fsx&question=35

There are many other examples of crash due to overweight.

Yea common sense told me it probaby wasn't a good idea. The payload file for the islander lists 2 pilots. With 9 passengers thats one person to many. Does fspassengers add the weight of both pilots? That would help some. And how do I edit out one of them? Not made my own payload file as of yet. Thanks for the help though.

I have a revolutionary suggestion. Edit the payload you have!!!

RE: Passengers max number? - Merlin59 - 16-03-2016

As I said I have created or edited any payload files as of yet. I'm not entirely comfortable or frankly sure how to. Is that simple enough. Also it doesn't answer my question about fspassengers adding the weight of both listed pilots or not. Thanks for the input anyway.

an easier fix:

when you add your passengers, simply edit the passenger list and change their age to 0. this will make them 8lbs. then you can carry even more luggage or fuel.

Or supermodels. :-) Seriously I just edited out one of the pilot slots and that seemed to help some. Editing an existing model didn't seem to daunting. Not ready for doing one from scratch but who knows. I need one for Razbam's Metroliner and can't find one. Thanks for the help all!
