[Solved]P3Dv3/FSP Framerate issue - Max2202 - 11-03-2016

I'm having troubles with P3Dv3 and FSP. When flying without FSPassengers I get a framerate of about 70 fps. When I start FSPassengers it drops to about 35 fps which would be fine, but during the flight it drops to 8 fps or less. If I end the flight, at any time the framerate goes up to 70 fps again.

I tried about everything from every settings on low, which doesn't help. I looks like FSP is eating up my CPU performance.

My computer specs are:

CPU: i7-4720HQ at 3.3 GHz
Mem: 16GB
GPU: GTX960M

Does anyone know what to do to improve the framerate while using FSPassengers?

Thanks in advance!!!

Max, I assume you are using P3D 3.1? I have not seen FsP cause any appreciable frame rate drops during announcements or any other function. Actually this is the first post I have seen regarding frame rate issues. Are you using any other addons along with FsP?

Thank you for the reply.

I did use some scenery addons, which I disabled in the scenery library. Also some custom AI, but I disabled all traffic.

I made some screenshots from before and after ending the flight. All settings are on low or disabled.

Before 8.9 fps:

After 84.4 fps:

When you use the mini panel, that's when the frame rates take a drop, correct? Typically the frame rates, as far as my particular experience goes with P3D, do drop and become erratic when the P3D menu is showing. Add another window to it like the mini display and it gets worse. Graphics drivers can play a role in this as well.
Have you tried a flight WITHOUT the mini display and access what is needed through the FsP menu?

What do you get without time compression on? Time compression make the game need to run faster which will use more CPU and ram

Ahh, good catch Sam. I didn't notice time compression was being used.

I already noticed the difference, although the difference was only about 4 fps. Anyway I also tried running P3D fullscreen without the P3D menu and the FSP minimenu, and it looks like that makes a big difference. Without any add-ons and running default graphics I get 50 fps.

I'll continue testing later tonight, adding some add-ons etc.

Anyway thanks so far.

Ok I got the problem, the problem was an addon scenery. Running some nice fps now.

Thank you guys for the fast reply's and help.
