Operating system being used to run FSX with FSP - whiskey-zulu - 02-03-2016 This is basically a re-hash of the thread I started back in 2010 (which can be found here), now that we've had a few more OSs appear on the market, the most notable possibly being Windows 10. It would be interesting to see the percentage of users who are either dinosaurs (those of us using XP ![]() ![]() ![]() For those who currently have pending issues, you have not been forgotten about. It simply takes time to find work-arounds and solutions that may help you and many of us have day jobs which keep us away from the computer for hours and hours to test. It may also be useful, if you have a pending issue and see this thread before your issue has a fix found, to link your thread from here, then once it's sorted, the thread can be marked-up appropriately and have a quicker means of accessing it in future. RE: Operating system being used to run FSX with FSP - Joeflyer - 03-03-2016 Glad to see you post something Whiskey. It's been a while! RE: Operating system being used to run FSX with FSP - SamTDS - 03-03-2016 Xp wins so far as it is the best, my dad's work uses xp every day RE: Operating system being used to run FSX with FSP - whiskey-zulu - 06-03-2016 Thanks Joe! I've been lurking here and there, and for a while couldn't fire up the old beast with FSX on so couldn't update FSP, but I should be able to get it all working again soon. I'm just hoping that the HAT switches on my Saitek yoke haven't died! Sam, one of my places of work still uses XP, and let's just say that although the systems used there are out-dated to the point that some need DOS emulators to run properly, it still beats one of my others that uses Win 7 where the systems are ridiculously unstable. I've also just noticed an error on the poll with Windows 8/8.1 64 also having Windows 10 in the same line! That line should just be for Windows 8/8.1 64. RE: Operating system being used to run FSX with FSP - whiskey-zulu - 04-11-2018 Sadly I don't have much time to dedicate to FSX these days, and I've been absent from the forums for some time now. However, I'm still curious to see what the OS demographics are like out there. I actually haven't played since I built my new computer almost 2 years ago (wow time flies), but I still have all my old save game files backed up. It amazes me that my old GT460 and 1GB of system ram on Win XP used to be able to run FSX in high detail, along with the real-world airlines traffic and some photo realistic scenery. RE: Operating system being used to run FSX with FSP - Joeflyer - 06-11-2018 Howdy W! Long time, no see! Yeah, I'm still running Win7 without issues on a 5 year old system. I've been thinking seriously about Origin PC building me a monster system. It'll be expensive but worth it. Wait, I need to buy a new car in a few months, too. It'll be expensive as well.
