Introduction and a 'real world' flying question... - keithm - 27-07-2011

Hello all

I'm Keith, I live in the U.K. and just joined these forums after using FSP for a couple of months (got a couple of great tips while lurking here) Wink
thanks.
It's really given a new dimension FSX, and made it my fave relaxing pasttime again. :D

My question involves entry patterns. I have no real world experience of flying... except as a passenger and the FSX tutorials talk about being a mile
or so from the airport on the base leg IIRC, but does this vary between aircraft types? In my limited knowledge I'd say it had to, can't really see a
747 turning onto final with 1nm to go... or do they?

Thanks in advance

Keith

Yes, the turn distance for base etc. will change according to the size and type of aircraft being flown. The best thing to do is to download some of
the charts of the airports you fly into most often - they are available from some websites, but which ones I have forgotten.

Thanks for the info, Top

Edit:

I found this http://skyvector.com/ and came to the conclusion I need to find out more about air charts Smile
