Most, if not all, GA aircraft are going to glass cockpits these days. It's the trend of the future in aviation. Back in the day when I learned how
to fly, there was no such thing as an MFD in a 172. Now the new ones are loaded with nice toys to play with

That's the direction they seem to go these days.
Eaglesoft have two Cirrus aircraft with such panels, and i have also seen some freeware ones as well.

I like the new glass cockpits (only seen them in pics though), looks nice. Will propably give a better overview of things and lighten the workload,
and also decreasing accidents and making the skies safer.
I would propably miss the old ways though.

I developed a huge soft spot for the Cirrus planes, just something about the avionics in the real ones that appeals. You can't beat seeing
the weather situation within 2000 miles, even if the plane can only go 1000.

Each time I fly into Duluth,Mn, all I see are Cirrus aircraft flying alll over the place. Of course that would be due to the fact the aircraft are
built there

Ah yes the G1000. Very nice. I saw that pic on A.net. I believe I may have even commented on it. Maybe I'll fly an aircraft equipped with it (or
similar) someday.

I will never fly a glass cockpit. I have flown two aircraft where the electrical failed. Once in a Piper Archer II and once in a Cessna 172. The
first time, I landed at a little grass strip in the middle of Kansas and after I shut down the aircraft and couldn't get it to turn over again. The
second time I was in the Cessa and realized what was happening. I took out my handheld and came back to the airport.
