Panel moving causes crash? - Pengu - 28-02-2011

Hi!

For a long time I nearly solely used to fly the feelthere Citation X.

As I now choosed another plane (origin FS B737) and tried to resize/move the panels, FS ends ("problem occured, FS has to end")! That occures with
each FS-origin plane - except my feelthere Citation...! This plane works fine over all, including panel resize and moving!

It's weird for me...!

Does anyone have some explanation for that?

Except for FS-Passengers I didn't install any addons for a long time, but I don't think FSP could be the reason.

Thanks for any hints!

Cheers from Hamburg, Germany!

Sigi,

What version of FS are you taking about? FS9? FSX? Some earlier version?

Also, whatever the version, have you applied all the updates for that version?

Another thing to try is to google on the specific error message that you are getting in your error box when FS crashes. Others beyond this forum may
have encountered your error and have discovered a solution or workaround.

Also, it could be a problem with your graphics card. Check your GC manufacturer's website for updated drivers/software.

I hope this helps. Cheers!

Hi drgullen!

Thanks for reply!

Sorry! Since I posted in subforum 'Fs2004 General' I did without specifying. I'm talking about FS2004 (FS9.1) with all relevant updates.

Certainly, I did google my error message, but without success. Obviously there'd never been such strange prob. :-/

My graphics card is - as well as my computer is - just a few months old. And: (2-D-)panel resizing and/or moving works fine with the feelthere
Citation as well as with the FlightOne Pilatus PC-12...! Merely the original planes of MSFS cause that weird crash.

It's really strange...!

I use MSFS - apart from some breaks - since its first PC-version (monochrome in green lines on screen and on one single 5,25" floppy... ;-)) from
1988! So I was confronted with several funny errors and faults over the time. However, this one really provides a very new experience...! ;-)

Well, anyway: Thank you for your effort! When the chips are down, I've to re-install FS. Plus all personal settings... Hoohh... creepy...! :-/

But maybe somebody else has got any idea...?

Cheers from Hamburg!

Hey Pengu,

Another thing to check is your Windows Event Viewer which you will find in the Administrative Tools section of your Control Panel. Reproduce the
crash, note the exact time that it occurs and then go look in the various logs in the Event Viewer. You might find a more descriptive error message
in there that you can research.

Other than that, here's a link that talks about a similar problem...

Good luck.
