catering - Andedrunkard - 24-05-2005 how many options are given for the food and duty free? are there just - basic , moderate and high quality ?? and are we (unwittingly) opening a door for virtual caterers!!! LOL you could really go wild couldnt you! hehe ![]() Re: catering - Shane Herbel - 26-05-2005 At present there are 4 main areas regarding food/drink services. V.I.P, business, economy travel and of coarse the level of service you provide (Brilliant idea). Each of these can also be customised to your standards. If you are a high quality airline you could charge more and the passengers will be happy to pay the prices). I was very interested in this feature from the first time I saw it and it's a topic that has not been mentioned a lot in the forums. The settings for food/drink/service is very simple to use but you must think carefully about your prices (This is something I love doing). To get the most money out of your passenger while not making them angry is the key here. And I like to constatly tune my service and sales prices to squeeze every dollar out my passengers. I think Dan could answer your question regarding virtual caterers. Re: catering - Big Vern - 26-05-2005 Elements of Rollercoaster Tycoon could creep in here! Put lots of salt on the fries and make the customers thirsty so they buy your watered down soda. My last experience of airline food was fairly awful on a transatlantic flight (American) and catering on internal US flights seemed non existent - a sandwich handed to you at the gate and a coffee on the plane, no hot meal. On a slightly different tack, how about disorderly passengers? Not unknown on UK "chav" holiday charter flights to places like Ibiza and Tenerife! Re: catering - JaWood - 26-05-2005 There are a lot of rules concerning airline food these days, including nutritional guidlines, alergy concerns, etc. Hospital food is also similarly regulated. Very little salt or sugar is put in the food (if any), usually no peanut content (notice how most airlines give gold fish crackers or pretzels now instead of peanuts), certain types of cooking methods are adhered to, meat products have guidlines out the wazoo, etc... There's not a lot of liberty that can be taken on the food, and that's why it usually ends up tasting pretty bland and flavorless. Re: catering - Shane Herbel - 26-05-2005 Big Vern, Funny you say but it is possible to get your passengers in FsP. Re: catering - djsebx - 26-05-2005 If some passengers get drunk because you served too many drinks, other passengers won't be satisfied of such situation and flight attendant may complain about personal problems with a few drunk passengers. ![]() Re: catering - jeffrey11190 - 26-05-2005 Quote:djsebx wrote: waht if thay are all drunk and you do crazy stuff like stalling would they rember. and also do you get to set the price of the ticket ???
