Reverse Thrust penalty - EnDSchultz - 18-12-2005

Does it apply for small turboprops like the Cessna Caravan? No reverse thrust under 60 kts? That seems rather ridiculous seeing as
the plane lands at 75 kias. The checklist specifically says to use reverse after landing, so shouldn't the penalty be reduced to something
like 25 kts for small aircraft?

well i guess that should answer that you dont need to use reversers in a caravan if youre landing at 75knots. youre already and taxiing
speeds almost..

Re: Reverse Thrust penalty - SWAFO - 18-12-2005

I believe it only applies to jet aircraft

Not if you want to stop REALLY fast...

Re: Reverse Thrust penalty - carlos747 - 19-12-2005

Did you get that penalty?

Re: Reverse Thrust penalty - EnDSchultz - 19-12-2005

No. I was just wondering if it applies to smaller aircraft.

I don't think it does (unless it's a small jet aicraft... like the Eclipse... lol... built here in ABQ).
