Re: Hardest Airports App - Joeflyer - 16-03-2008 As of today, the hardest thing for me to do is COMPLETE a flight much less make a difficult approach ![]() I've already had a uti.dll error and a terrain.dll error on 2 different long-haul flights and in 2 different areas of the world...with 2 different aircraft. Re: Hardest Airports App - Atlantic Airways - 17-03-2008 EKVG 13! Default FSX Lukla ![]() Re: Hardest Airports App - Valoran - 17-03-2008 I've heard about a lot of these airports and tried a few of them. They probably are the hardest. I would like to mention a few small airfields in the Pacific Northwest that are also tricky to fly in and out of. While they may lack the noteriety of the above mentioned places, these are the three of the more tricky airports I've flown into and out of. They all require short-field aircraft (no runway is longer than 4000ft.) and all are in narrow river valleys. 1. KCZK - Cascade Locks Located in the deepest part of teh Columbia Gorge. Constant high wind and weather, short and narrow field probably the hardest of the three on any given day. 2. 00W - Lower Granite State Around a bend in the Snake River steep cliffs on either side. weather here is not usually an issue except in winter 3. S68 - Orofino Municipal Narrow river valley, default trees can make apporoaches tricky, blind dogleg approach sort of like the approaches into the forest service strips in central Idaho but it's an asphalt strip so a little easier, often windy No, they aren't glamorous like Lulka and the Princess but they are still fun and tricky with the right conditions. Re: Hardest Airports App - ameval - 17-03-2008 mmm will take a look at those valoran Re: Hardest Airports App - the_nick - 17-03-2008 standard Courchevel , it has trees a few feet away from the treshold. Re: Hardest Airports App - ariccsr - 20-03-2008 SEQU Quito, Ecuador. Its High And In The Mountains And Is Foggy Alot If You Use Real Weather. VNKT Khathmandu, Nepal Very High In A Mountain Valley That Has Times Of Very Dense Fog. Had Times Were I Was Over The Airport And Still Couldnt See The Field And Dont Fly Into Or Out Of This Airport At Night Unless You Know Surrounding Altitudes. |
