Ok, so looks like I have to turn to you the good ol' fsp gang for help
So I finally got fs9 again, and finally installed it on my laptop, now everything runs great... except it does not retain any of the settings set by
my graphics driver
So here is my specs:
Windows Vista Ultimate,
Nvidia 8600 GT
3GB RAM
Nvidia: Forceware 163.75
Running FS As admin/compatibility mode for XP/SP2
Other troubles, for some reason if I minimize FS, i can't return to it.
Any my last great question, anyone have a great Fs9.cfg that is perfected I could get a copy of?
I had saved my old one which I had done a lot of research into and all that good stuff.... I forgot to get it off my old computer.

just an update... I tried to downgrade the driver to a previous version which seems to have no effect.

Hi there
I had some of these problems. I use nHancer (http://www.nhancer.com) which seems to be a different visual interface to the video drivers - it's
free.
I also had problems getting back to FS9 when minimized. I discovered that if I put it into window more (Alt+Enter) first the issue went
away.

yea I did windowed mode, but for some reason if I switched views it would freeze the display image, I will mess with nhancer, forgot about
it.

I haven't experienced anything like this, but maybe it is on FS9's part.
Try deleting the FS9.cfg and FS9 will rebuild a new one from scratch next time you boot it up.

How do you do your anti aliasing? I believe if you enable it in game you get those problems.. try to enable it only with nhancer.

AA in game is off... I dont have time to test this stuff out right now, but thanks for the help so far... I have tried windowed mode/full screen,
Settings through nvidia forceware, settings through nHancer, etc... restarts, etc... no help. I am going to try the deleting the .cfg later and
hopefully that will have an effect (and does anyone have a fs9.cfg that has been really tweaked? maybe that could help too).
I will let you guys know... hope it does not come down to a reinstall, but I will try that last if nothing else seems to work.
I run most things as admin too under vista, so I dont think it is access issues, but I could have missed somthing... anyone else have
success under vista? --> for fs9

alright bringing this back but with a different question... is there a no-cd patch for fs9? I am home from college for thanksgiving and I forgot
the cd, but I just updated the graphics drivers and now got my good fs9.cfg from my old installation, and well, now I can't play to even test it
out

Some people consider it "illegal" for some reason, not sure why though. As long as you bought the game you aren't stealing anything,
just keeping your CD from getting scratched

thanks... and yea I don't get it, I dont like having to swap out a cd for every game I want to play. I think I have plent proved I own the game
here :P
and as far as everything goes, it still does not want to respond to nvidia graphics control or using nHancer, I am just at a dead end here... :

alright so I tried chaning my drivers again and used driver sweeper, which cleared out everything for my drivers, and most settings seem
to be working again, however, fs9 still refuses to listen! So I think it is time for to hit the uninstall button, and get FSX, now if only I had
FSPX to go along with it

i have the same problems.
No Antialiasing in Fs 9. What ever i do in the driver Settings, no Antialiasing.
Have try other Games to. In GTR2 ( Racesimulator) is the same effect.
I think its a Driver problem. A friend has it to.
My Card is a Gainward 7800 GS+
My Friends Card is a 8800 GS
We have try other Driver and nHancer. No way for Antialiasing.

of course, and you know for some reason even if I enable it as a "I want some damn aa" it still does nothing... after install 169.04 drivers
and using driver sweeper to uninstall my old driver I gained the ability to have AA in other games but Fs9 pretty much is just having fun
