Fear Factor.... - Pitmurph - 02-12-2005 Here is my quandry.... EVERYTIME I take off out of DFW it ALWAYS gives me "the passenger thought you made a dangerous take off"!!!! This is in the 737-800... The take off is NO different than anywhere else.... but no matter what I do I get this abonishment.... and ONLY at DFW!!!! Any ideas???? Re: Fear Factor.... - Jetflyer - 03-12-2005 It is your add-on scenery. A search of the forum will reveal all. I'm afraid I'm not sure what it is I would be looking for in searching the forum for the answer to this... ![]() Re: Fear Factor.... - Jetflyer - 03-12-2005 Well, in add on scenery the runway included with the addon scenery is only a texture which is applied in an area which FS does not consider the "real" runway. It can be confusing, but it basically means that FSP thinks you are taking off not on the runway, thus a dangerous takeoff. There are programs such as "AFCAD" which you can download from the net and which allow you to position runways so that you can match the FS2004 runway area with the scenery, someone else might be able to elaborate on exactly how to do that, but it's a solution. Re: Fear Factor.... - Airliner - 03-12-2005 If I may, modifying the Afcad file should take about 3 minutes. ![]() Simply open up FS9 and Afcad (the KDFW scenery obviously), and position your aircraft (in top down view) at the corner of the runway. Now switch to Afcad and check the alignment. Do the same for all 4 corners. If the runway is too short, you'll have to change the length by double-clicking on it in Afcad and editing the length. This adds equal length to both sides, so you'll have to re-align it again until it's right. Also, if it's add-on scenery, you could try a search of the download site for an afcad file made just for it. Try search terms like KDFW, Afcad, and the name of the scenery or designer. Flightsim.com even has them in categories so you can just search under "gates and taxiways." Re: Fear Factor.... - SWAFO - 03-12-2005 People have mentioned issues at DFW in the past. It's got to be that scenery! Re: Fear Factor.... - Pitmurph - 04-12-2005 Thanks so much folks!!!! Very interesting.... currently I use the Just Flight World Airports 2 scenery.... it's great stuff.... but as I am VERY program ignorant... most of your soultions might as well be written in Greek.... Does anyone know if the AFCAD adjusting would work with this particular add on scenery??? ![]() |
