Re: ARRRRRRRGH LOL - Sovek - 27-11-2005

Ive turned collision detection off, just because it aint realistic

Re: ARRRRRRRGH LOL - timcclayton - 27-11-2005

I have had collision detection turned off from day one (mainly because it doesn't work properly!), but unfortunately FSP uses it. I had a long flight
the other day, landed perfectly well, taxiied over to the parking area, got to within about 20 feet of the hangar and about to apply the parking
brake, when FSP detected a "crash" (presumably with the hangar even though I was at least 20 feet away) and that cost me 3 passengers' lives and about
£200,000 damage.

How those 3 passengers died at 20 knots on the apron I don't know. Perhaps they were all carrying REALLY sharp objects at the time?

So now, as soon as I land, I get off the runway, onto the nearest taxiway, apply the parking brake and end the flight!

Re: ARRRRRRRGH LOL - Dutch64 - 28-11-2005

Then why don't you turn it off within fsp also?

Re: ARRRRRRRGH LOL - DBE - 28-11-2005

Hehe: having landed in Girona, Spain this weekend, I was directed towards a parking slot which was wedged between two B737s.

I sat there for a while pondering whether I would just fit after all....

...I didn't!

Sunk

Aahh, didn't know you could! That will be next thing on my list with FSP then Smile

Re: ARRRRRRRGH LOL - SaVas - 28-11-2005

Only issue I have found with turning off crash detection is when using float planes. If you get a high enough 'wave' you bounce up to 500
ft, so when flying my nw old Norseman float I turn it on.

Dutch, I have tried to find an option to do this, but there is nothing in the "settings" area of FSP - am I missing something???

Thanks,
Tim.

Go into your FSP folder and click the more_config and edit it with a 1 for the crash detection towards the bottom

Thanks SaVas.

Re: ARRRRRRRGH LOL - Airliner - 28-11-2005

"control taxied another 744 into me"

Nice! When I was working at Boston Logan, two aircraft were cleared for pushback at the same time - A US Airways MetroJet B732 and a
Delta Shuttle B738. They ah, tagged tails! Not good!

Then again, KBOS is notorious for such encounters, especially now with the construction of the new runway 14/32.

Re: ARRRRRRRGH LOL - almoto - 29-11-2005

Well i tried a repeat of that flight THIS time it was rough weather over southern england followed by a shoot down over the london no-fly
zone. I am beginning to think i need to go to gatwick LOL
