dan read - jeffrey11190 - 20-05-2005 how about you have computer pilots flying for you too?it would be great like you hire a pilot and he fly one on your planes???? Re: dan read - jboweruk - 20-05-2005 This has been discussed. Dan is currently working on an idea that will at least partly simulate this. Dan Re: dan read - mikecollis - 21-05-2005 Dan you out done yourself again, thats a great idea if it ever gets implemented. Re: dan read - DanSteph - 21-05-2005 it's done... "Fleet income" if you perform well you get some additional income based on the number of aircraft your company own if you do bad, FsP say that "there was no flight today" and you get $0... Again only your piloting skill will count for your company performance... Those presumed flight are gosht flight and doesn't appear in any report nor does they increase aircraft hours count or degrade your aircraft... But it would have been to bad to have bought 15 aircraft and only get income from yours... that would not have been rewarding for your efforts. Dan Re: dan read - jeffrey11190 - 22-05-2005 no i mean you can hire a pilot to do some flights Re: dan read - Cuda - 22-05-2005 Dan has said all along that this is not an airline tycoon type game. The main focus is to simulate all aspects of an airline PILOT. Seeing as pilots do not get to hire other pilots, this feture should not be in the game. Re: dan read - jboweruk - 22-05-2005 Quote:Cuda wrote: And do you not want the ability to purchast aircraft then? The pilot's don't get to do that either. ![]() It would be nice to have the option, but it's probably not workable within the current framework of FS. So we have the multiplier bonus instead. Remember this is an add-on simulating a lot of things, from working for an airline to starting up your own as a pilot with but one small aircraft. Re: dan read - Deacon - 22-05-2005 Quote:jboweruk wrote: Be that as it may, bear in mind that there _are_ those among us (myself not included) who actually do most if not all of their flying solo, online or off. It would seem that this vast market could be better tapped if there were such a module (perhaps available later on) that would allow them to hire AI pilots to round out their experience. I can't believe this is a difficult task to code up, but probably should wait for version 2.0. A Career in commercial aviation is not accomplished by being a one person anything. Isn't it natural to assume a program like this might provide the needed interactivity with other people who constitute an airline, be they real or AI people? Re: dan read - jboweruk - 22-05-2005 Yo Deacon your preaching to the converted. Read my post and you can see I was the one who said it would be a nice feature to have. At the moment I don't think it can be done within the framework of fs9, maybe we'll have to see what 10 brings, since a lot of ppl have been begging for a career mode as such. Re: dan read - Shandon - 22-05-2005 I think we need to leave some ideas for the next version...This is going to be an addon to a game..not a game in it self,Fs9 is a game for us to be pilots and to fly...Not have an ai pilot doing it for us...otherwise it just becomes another administration simulator...( which would be great but does not represent what flightsims are about)...IMHO only. Re: dan read - DanSteph - 22-05-2005 Quote:Shandon wrote: I 100% agree, I don't see the point to load Fs9 to let AI pilot fly... I agree it may be cool but as a separate "airline tycoon" FsP is 200% devoted to your flight only... even all the stuff around as buying aircraft and getting financial result is directly linked to your flight abilities... I thought that you could be a pilot for an airline or create and manage an airline Post Edited ( 05-25-05 00:12 ) Re: dan read - jboweruk - 23-05-2005 I don't see why everybody seems to be saying either airline tycoon or career, what's wrong with having ai pilots to fly some of the planes in your fleet, but still doing some flights yourself. Most times in the real world the owners don't fly is because they aren't pilots, they're businessmen(women), but some do, Nikki Lauda for example flew some flights as a pilot himself, but he still had pilots flying for him. Re: dan read - georak - 23-05-2005 I think time is the issue here, although many people wanting this feature (ai pilot feature) including me, still we say it is not as important to wait another couple of weeks/months for redesigning a considerable part of the software, to make it even possible. In the other hand, I just had exactly the same thought concerning Niki Lauda as the FLYING manager. ![]() Dan has done a simplified solution for this problem to give a impression that you are not alone in the company. You can read about it under another topic called ’How do you earn money’. Best wishes... |
