FsP causes chain reaction buying other addons - Dutch64 - 22-11-2005

I was discussing this with another forum member yesterday evening and I wonder if this is the case for others too.
Of course, since i bought FsP I'm using fs9 much more than before, but not just that.. It seems that i buy other addons now also which i would most
likely not have bought otherwise. Like the T7, "Walk and Follow", Cloud9 Amsterdam and since reading Savas' stories I'm sure i will buy some georender
stuff also. And I think this is just the start of a long list of addons to follow Wink

(I still must have somewhere a meridian which i might start using
now for once. Hmm, I just found out it's the 2002 version so there's another purchase coming up Smile

)
I think FsP started some kind of chain reaction and i don't know where it will end Wink

P.S. Savas, if you read this, do you have more of that Georender series? I saw somewhere the first 3 series for only 22 Euro or so, seems very cheap
to me. What's your experience with this series?

But it is the same process for me. As I need to be more acurate in flight planning, I bought FSNavigator. As there is too many hazard with
the ATC, I think about Radar Contact, As there are problems with sharp wind changes, others buy active sky etc.

It is also going that way with planes. for a long time I considered that due to all the planes available on the freeware area it was a waste
to buy paywares (a first try with "perfect flight" A 380 comforted me in the opinion that payware planes where BS)... Until I bought the DF
727 and now the CS 707. I need now to go to the step of preflight preparation and start up procedure to feel into flight atmosphere.

Yes, indeed, Radar Contact v4 will be for sure something i will buy... Thinking about Misty Fjords also but well, i hear 'different' stories about
that addon so don't know yet. Anyhow, it's always nice to have something to wish for Smile

Well, I haven't bought any other addons yet - rather sink that into a new video card so I can get out of the 20 and uder FPS rut. Smile

But, I will say that I'm finally taking the time to paint my own aircraft liveries, now that I have an airline to run. That and scooping up aircraft
and panels from Flightsim.com. It has certainly reinfigurated my interest!

I have I think 4 or 5 of the Georenders. Cant remember which ones since Im at work,

but I know off hand, I have the ones with Lake Wenatchee, Orcas Island, Diamond Point, Strom, Skykomish State, Emma Field, Chelan
Muni.

Some of those I just listed are as a pair sold together methinks. Its been a while, but there are three I believe that I dont have, and of
those there is only one Im not really interested in and thats the one in Utah (I think)

There ae a couple of bugs with Chelan, such as the sounds not working if you have Active Camera, but they are working on that, and
there was an early CTD that they sorted out, but of all the ones I have, Chelan is my favorite, followed by Emma Field, then Orcas Island,
but they are all true gems. The perfect PNW small GA airports.

I think Richard nailed it with Chelan though. He has more eye candy and sound effects associated with this one than I have seen, and its
quite stable (if you have Active Camera and disable it until they fix the sound issue). He definitely makes a "living world" and its not much
of an impact at all on frame rates.

Nah, I'm not much of a payware fan, and FSP hasn't really driven me to get more. Maybe I'll get a registered version of FSUIPC, but that's about it.
My one foray into buying payware planes was pretty disappointing, so I'm pretty unlikely to get very much more. I'd much rather modify the freeware
planes that are out there to suit my taste. I'm not into scenery enough to ever buy some; the freeware stuff is OK with me.

Not being critical of the payware buyers out there at all though; I hope everyone is enjoying their personal experience.

FsP haven't driven me to buy anymore paywares, or download more freeware... I'm a natural born spender :D

Its all a matter of taste. The sim is great without any addons but personally there are a lot of paywares that I love and cant live without

I agree, even though FS2004 can be great without addons, some addons really adds something a little special...

I just bought the atr because it has some emotional value for me... Printing the manual now... almost 500 pages!! lol

And the meridian looks great too. Now my wishes to make for the time being my flight experience complete would be RC4 and some georenders Smile

spending has gone up from £0 to £25 per month now, on bits and pieces. Bought a Saitek X45 on Ebay and justified it to my partner that
she could give it to me for christmas. That backfired - I paid for it, now she's hidden it until Christmas!
