474 aircraft? - samiranks - 18-11-2005

i went to see the movie flightplan http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808649304/details and saw this aircraft 474 is this real? and if so i
guess its not available for download in flightsim ha? just wondering. that aircraft was huge looking at it on screen. have anyone seen it?

Re: 474 aircraft? - SaVas - 18-11-2005

More than likely its one of those aircraft created in the imaginations of the screenwriters so embellish the appeal of a what if jumbo jet
that fits into the story line

Re: 474 aircraft? - Drew - 18-11-2005

The plane looks realistic, except for those wings! They are ridiculously big compared to the fuselage! I doubt with wings like that it would even fly in real life.

Re: 474 aircraft? - Jetsgo - 19-11-2005

I saw the movie, started a thread a while back, great movie! The "Evrojet E474" is a great aircraft.... maybe some compitition for the
A380? :D

Re: 474 aircraft? - xvxmatthewxvx - 19-11-2005

Thinking of seeing it, so how was it?

Haha, competition for the A380! I really wish it was though, I like Airbus, but hate the shape of the A380. Looks like a oil tanker or a beluga
whale.

This 474 was 100% designed by that lady? I don't think one person designs the whole thing. She must be a expert in every field then!

And what did it say (i mised it during the flash) "Room for a 30 car parking garage" ?? Where the heck do the cars go? It doesn't look that big! And the weight, PLUS the passengers + cargo...... haha

And another thing about the wings, (and the fins too) they are super thick! They must weigh at least 30% of the entire plane, Crazy!

Haha speedbreaks! Didn't notice that Dan! hahaha

Re: 474 aircraft? - Jetsgo - 19-11-2005

Kyle helps design the turbine engines for the Evrojet 474 (In the movie of course). If it were a real aircraft it would surpass the
Airbus A380 in every aspect, expept for the fact that no airport to date could accommidate this skyliner, which is portraited to be larger
than the world's biggest plane, the Antonov 225. It was a great movie, not really scary, but at the same time it is, in a really suspensful
way. The basic plot is that the air marshal and FA are in a plan together to highjack the Evrojet, and blame it on Kyle. During the flight, the
air marshall (who is behind it all) tells the captin of "Kyle's" randsom. It was millions of dollars to be transfered from the Air Alto finance
account to an unidentified banking account (that of the air marshall and FA's). They basicly try and make kyle think she's crazy, and try and
make her belive that her husband killed himself because of Kyle, and that her daughter was killed weeks before the present day. Great
movie!

Re: 474 aircraft? - Jetflyer - 19-11-2005

The Airbus A380 was clearly the main source of inspiration for this.

Re: 474 aircraft? - samiranks - 19-11-2005

has anyone been on the a380 yet...?

Re: 474 aircraft? - Jetflyer - 19-11-2005

The A380 was a source of inspiration...regardless of whether it's in commericial service or not. It was the main source of inspriration. Believe it or
not, film producers actually have an imagination! Yes, it does help Rolleyes
