Benefits for realty landingview - Maverik - 17-11-2005 Hi all FsP-Fans not knowing who you do your landings I would appreciate to get benefit-points not using the aircrafts´s view from outside. I mean it´s really more difficult to do a smooth landing from the regulare insite view. What do you think about the idea to get more points trying to do as really as it gets. Hoping it is understandable in my German-English what I mean. Ernst Re: Benefits for realty landingview - SE-TMA - 17-11-2005 I'm not sure FsP can "sense" which view you are using...but some people really like to see their perfect landing in external view (availible thru instant-replay, of course)...I don't know...I both like and dislike the idea... Re: Benefits for realty landingview - jboweruk - 17-11-2005 I see where you're coming from but I always find everything a darned site harder from external that the cockpit, maybe that's just me. Re: Benefits for realty landingview - Dutch64 - 17-11-2005 I think it will be difficult to get a system which would give you more points for internal or external because it will be different for everybody. I personally think it's more difficult to land in external view while somebody else might just like that view much better. Re: Benefits for realty landingview - ste9889 - 17-11-2005 i see where your coming from, but i think its easier to land in a external view than from the cockpit as you can see how far off the runway you are (height wise) but thats just my preference Re: Benefits for realty landingview - jboweruk - 17-11-2005 I always thought that's what the altimeter did..... Re: Benefits for realty landingview - Nasder - 17-11-2005 I think landing in internalview is easier, you got all the guages... airspeed, height, speed of decend and so on. Sure, I sometimes press shift+return, to raise the view out a bit to get a view of the runway, but that's it. Landing in outside view would no option to me, even though most of my landings are visual ones, I still like to see my guages ![]() Re: Benefits for realty landingview - SaVas - 17-11-2005 I do all landings from the virtual cockpit as I find the view a lot better. I never do it from external view nor do I do it from the 2D panel view (unless the aircraft doesnt have a VC) And btw your English is much better than my German ![]() Re: Benefits for realty landingview - Shady - 17-11-2005 I used to to use the 2D cockpit and at the same time I open the external view in new small window. So I have both: gauges and the look from outside which helped me to "sense" how far I am from the ground. But with the time I stopped using the external view during the landing and instead I watch the instant replay to admire my perfect landings ;-) Cheers! Re: Benefits for realty landingview - Plane Nuts - 17-11-2005 I don't think I could possibly land from the spot plane view. I need my altimeter, VSI, Airspeed indication, etc.. Plus, I've always been the type of simmer that shoots for as much realism as possible, so landing from outside the aircraft is WAY too video game like for me. I treat FS as a simulator and fly it as such. Hell, I won't even go to the bathroom until after I've landed if I'm flying a smaller aircraft with no toilet. ![]() Re: Benefits for realty landingview - SaVas - 17-11-2005 Quote:Plane Nuts wrote: thats a bit of a stretch for me to not use the restroom. I drink tooooo much coffee to hold it in ![]() Re: Benefits for realty landingview - Mud - 17-11-2005 VC for me most of the time. But if weather is to bad or feel not comfortable with the plane I fly me go to 2D and hit the "W" key once to get a better view. If the dials are blocking view I hit the "W" 1 more time and and Pressing SHIFT+Z to get alt , speed etc. Not used this method for some time but it helped me to get my landings right. Mud Post Edited ( 11-17-05 20:04 ) Re: Benefits for realty landingview - pagir - 17-11-2005 I usually land with the cockpit and I add a window (CTRL-Q) to see the plane too. Better of both world. However, I find it's easier to rely on the Ground proximity system (thanks to FsP!!!) with the big ones, without side view. Whats coffee? crushed beans filtered with water. Without water I would have no coffee, so I drink plenty of water |
