landing speed? - Langston Williams - 28-09-2006 Does any body know the deal landing speed of a 737 Re: landing speed? - American Jet - 28-09-2006 140knots Re: landing speed? - ivo - 29-09-2006 Quote:Langston Williams wrote: Varies ![]() I would suggest looking in the proper aircraft manual. Landing speed could be influenced by weight, flaps, and ever winds. For example, if the are strong winds(not exceeding limitations) you might want to approach and land at a higher speed so your aircraft will be more stable. Re: landing speed? - Tipath - 01-10-2006 Hi Fellow Simmers, Have a question and thought this might be a good place to ask it. This has to do with the speed restrictions that are placed on us using reverse thrust. "On" at 80 knots, "OFF" at 60 Knots, which FO Otto will call out. Okay here is the question. While flying home from a weeks cruise yesterday. The first leg was KMIA ->KRDU in a 737-400. As soon as the wheels touched the runway we went into reverse thrust. I didn't have a chance to check on the second leg as we were in a CRJ and he just let her roll on touch down. Best Regards, Tipath Re: landing speed? - ivo - 01-10-2006 You can apply reverse thrust as soon as the front wheels touch the runway. And then disengage at 80 Knots. Re: landing speed? - SWVA5630 - 01-10-2006 I am always using 135 knots/ 30 degrees flaps, and when I get within 10-20 feet I pull throttles to idle because the aircraft likes to float of you don't do it soon enough. |
