Runway Length - hyderpotter - 23-09-2006 The best airport in the UK (Not in London) to take off. I tryed a airport in scotland, but when I reach 180kts I was coming to the end of the runway and damage my gear. I hope that Manchester airport is ok. Post Edited ( 09-23-06 22:06 ) Re: Runway Length - Jason - 24-09-2006 I just tried taking off a 744 fully loaded from SLLP....whooops. It's got a 13K ft runway but it's at over 12K ft elevation ![]() Re: Runway Length - gronji2004 - 24-09-2006 Try Shannon. What your Center of Gravity like? Are you close to MTOW? Also, you might want to apply a bit of back pressure on your stick if your aircraft just isn't taking off most aircraft don't take off of their own. Phil Re: Runway Length - American Jet - 26-09-2006 Maybe try at KJFK or in Miami, or even DFW, the best I would recommend would be Chicago, it has about 10 different runways you can try. Re: Runway Length - hyderpotter - 27-09-2006 I use the 737 for within the UK, but I need the 747 for flight to usa. Re: Runway Length - Airliner - 27-09-2006 Most trans-Atlantic flights I'm aware of between US and UK involve: MAN 9997 x 150 feet, 10000 x 150 feet LHR 12001 x 148 feet, 12799 x 164 feet GTW 10364 x 148 feet, 8415 x 148 feet SHA 10495 x 148 feet (The rest are closed?) DUB 8652 x 148 feet, 4393 x 200 feet, 6798 x 200 feet Try those with the B744 or B773. |
