Weather problem in FS - georak - 15-08-2006 Hello Everyone! I have a problem is FS: The default weather downloader says, it cannot find the server, though the Internet is does work. Also, when I try to set it to a static weather theme, is still keeps giving me the message of not finding the server. Can this function be reset, or can this problem be fixed somehow? Ofcourse without reinstalling MSFS? I would be most grateful if someone helped me in this matter.... Geo Re: Weather problem in FS - m_estrugo - 15-08-2006 fs2k.zone.com, the weather server FS uses, was down for a couple of days. It tends to get on and off. There are other payware alternatives around for better weather services. Re: Weather problem in FS - Joeflyer - 15-08-2006 ...like Active Sky 6....the best weather product out there in sim land. Re: Weather problem in FS - georak - 15-08-2006 Yes, I used it for some time, but I found that it produced too severe wind and/or fog (couldnt even see in front of my nose) so frequently, that I couldnt land on non ILS airports - say - 2/3 of the attempts. I did not find it too realistic. :-( Could it be some configuration problem? But in the other hand, I liked the way it could make predictions to destinations and alternates, and so on... Anyway, thanks for the replies. :-) I will look around a bit according to your suggestions. Geo Re: Weather problem in FS - Sovek - 16-08-2006 I havnt had that problem, try fliying to diffrent aiports during that time, like another part of the world. Of course maybe you have the settings within AS that create sever wind and/or fog conditions?? Plus, it is entirely realistic to fly to certain airports around the world that are shrouded in fog much of the time. For instance, I fly a C208(in real time) in Nebraska quite often....as I did last week. I can usually bank on North Platte being shrouded in fog in the early a.m. hours...on one particular morning the vis was less than 1/4 mile and 100 feet vertical and had to end up diverting 40 miles west until the vis lifted to minimums. No need in explaining further...you get my point. Re: Weather problem in FS - CowlFlapsOpen - 16-08-2006 Mornings on the northwest coast are like that also. I can't get in to KACV (Arcata, CA) often but I like that. Re: Weather problem in FS - georak - 18-08-2006 I see, what You mean. Surely, it is rather challenging and fun to fly in severe weather conditions. As I said, it adds a whole new aspect to planing (forecast, alternetes...), but what I was saying is that for instance, when I was flying at my hometown's airport, I had practically zero vis., then I looked out the window (from my room) and I saw fair visibility (we could say CAVOK). :-) Maybe my settings are not correct, I dont know... I also made changes to the FSUIPC settings, to limit these conditions, but I didnt like the thought, that this could be considered to be cheating. :-) Thanks for the replies, I will look for solutions...
