ground/scenery issues help.......... - Drew - 23-04-2006

ok, ive had this issue for a while, and its starting to annoy me..........

as you can see, i have some 'detailed' tiles, (the closest to bottom ones) and some not so detailed on the ground

this does not make a nice picture

how can i make these detailed tiles span further? its bound to be in the fs settings somewhere, but i dont know what to change.

thanks

extened terrain textures in the disp settings maybe?

Blurries are a symptom of the sim not having enough resources or not using them efficiently, try to establish a 18--22 FPS top. That´s what I would do
before editing the scenery.cfg...

thanks, i was on locked at 30, changed it to 20 now, but as im over water right now, i cant see the detail Smile

By resources i take it you mean ram? if so, i have 1.5gig

I have the same problem, it is sooo ugly!

Tasos.

Re: ground/scenery issues help.......... - aristoteles - 23-04-2006

You rig is trying to establish 30 FPS always and puts all his resources in that,; whenever it can´t get to that point, the first thing you may notice
is the textures being blurry. You will be with 30 FPS but with worse graphic quality.

Re: ground/scenery issues help.......... - Drew - 23-04-2006

yes i understand what your saying Smile

will let you know what its like locked at 20 once im over ground.

reason i want it fixing is because im going to be flying a twin prop soon around England, so ground texture will be much more important
than it is now, also just bought and installed GE2006 to enhance it

You won´t regret it. Top

Drew, I think resources means also processing power. Flying low and slow will automatically improve things because CPU and GPU
get more time to load and render textures compared to chasing a Citation X at 500 kts across the ground Wink

Re: ground/scenery issues help.......... - Drew - 23-04-2006

thanks i will try a 'low and slow' flight after i have landed this one, with the reduced fps locked at 20

maybe i should also try that fsautostart or whatever its called, as right now i have 59 processors running

Re: ground/scenery issues help.......... - aristoteles - 23-04-2006

59!!! 26 here.... wow

Re: ground/scenery issues help.......... - olseric - 24-04-2006

You can change the distance which tiles change to "higher resolution" from the FS9.CFG file. They're under the [TERRAIN] section. A
google search would reveal what to adjust and what it will do.

Re: ground/scenery issues help.......... - Drew - 24-04-2006
