again my coputer!is there anyone who now if fs 2006 will run also on windows xp?????????thankyou for your answers!!

Re: FS 2006 - Dutch64 - 23-01-2006

it will run but not utilizing the full (graphical) possibilities as with Vista.

Re: FS 2006 - SaVas - 23-01-2006

FSX will run on XP or so says Microsoft, however they said FSX is optimized for Vista, so to get the best out of it Vista will be needed and
the upgrade to Vista shouldnt be more than $100 to 200 USD

Re: FS 2006 - Dynamo - 24-01-2006

There are going to be 7 (yes 7) versions of Vista - I am sure one of those will suit your needs (pocket).

Re: FS 2006 - burkino_026 - 24-01-2006

what is this Vista?

Re: FS 2006 - Dutch64 - 24-01-2006

That will be the new windows release previously known as longhorn

Re: FS 2006 - ivo - 24-01-2006

OK, I have a stupid question. Can you buy vista separately,or do you need to buy a whole new computer? If I can just install it, then how
would it benifit my pc? I would still have the same proccesor.

Re: FS 2006 - Dutch64 - 24-01-2006

Depends on what kind of pc you have now. But usually a windows upgrade needs some hardware upgrade too Wink But again, if you have a top pc now, it will
do fine i guess

Re: FS 2006 - Airliner - 25-01-2006

I thought I read somewhere that it will need a 64-bit system to run. That would rule out my Athlon XP.

Re: FS 2006 - Dutch64 - 25-01-2006

It will be released as a 32 and 64 bits version Wink

Re: FS 2006 - jboweruk - 25-01-2006

Oh boy, this Vista thing is looking more of a pain every time I hear about it, so let's see 7 versions?

Vista Home: 32 bit
Vista Home: 64 bit
Vista Pro: 32
Vista Pro:64
Vista Server: 32
Vista Server: 64
Vista who knows what it'll be called monster 64 bit mega version for large corporations who don't have to ask do we really need this but
we'll buy it anyhow because it's aimed at us.

Re: FS 2006 - Dynamo - 26-01-2006

No, its 7 versions - not including the different processor makeup; here is what we have been informed:

Vista Starter Edition.
Vista Home Basic Edition.
Vista Home Premium Edition
Vista Ultimate Edition
Vista Small Business Edition
Vista Professional Edition
Vista Enterprise Edition.

(Not sure if 32/64 is included with each install, or you have to decide which to have on purchase).

And you thought the Home/Professional choice was hard to make....
