Flight maps and other company options - WBHoenig - 26-10-2005

I love FsP, but there are a few company options that it is lacking (in my opinion). I think that you should be able to manually set your
destinations w/o flying them first, and (if selected) you should have to fly within those routes. You should be able to set hubs, and less
passengers should fly on flights to more interesting destinations (more to Orlando or New York than a remote Canadian village that just
happens to have a long runway or Cancun during Wilma).

Edit: I knew I forgot something else...
It would be nice if you could have automated pilots in your network that fly every flight you miss; usually, one pilot can't usually contain the whole network's schedule.

Re: Flight maps and other company options - Ryanamur - 26-10-2005

Hi there,

Most of these have been discussed in the past. What you have to remember is that FsP is NOT an airline manager. Yes, it does
have economic management but that's not the primary goal of the program (it's there more as a bells and whistles). FsP is there to
empower you when you are flying. It's there to give a purpose to your flight (not to your airline). When it comes to automated pilots, route
assignment and multiple aircraft flying at once you are running out of the scope of the game. That doesn't mean that they are not good
ideas that shouldn't be explored. It simply means that Dan will probably not devote any of his time pursuing those. What you are asking
for would probably take around 1 year to program (I'm not a programmer but when Dan sees this thread, he'll let you know).

To me, the only recommendation you've brought forward that could probably be implemented would be the idea of passenger load being
higher at and to large airports (KJFK, KLAX, CYUL, CYYZ...) then they would be at and to smaller ones like those found in remote
Canadian villages.

Ultimately though, it's up to Dan to decide. Since he is the only programmer, he knows what can and cannot be done and in which
timeline.

Phil

What I would like to see regarding numbers of people on airports is this. When you start at a certain airport, you can open a report how
many people are waiting for a trip to a certain destination. Now you know how many people you will carry when choosing a destination. It
might help to decide where to go to... (and yes, I know its no manager I'm stupid )

Example: You basically do that already when you start your flight and have say 150 pax waiting at the gate. You then choose to load all of
them or say you are flying to a remote destination you can set it to load maybe 56 pax, but with your satisfaction rating of 93%
hypothetically and able to load 85% (150) pax you can be your own judge or jury on the number of pax you can load up to 150. Its more
about piloting skills but FsP adds such functionality as to give you some choices not associated with your flying skills.

I know Savas, in your mind you can create whatever you need Wink

The problem with setting a #of passengers per "intteresting" destination is that it would render
90% of destination unflyable because you would have a very low count of Pax... (of course
if you have destination with more pax you should then have dest with lower pax)

ok new york, london, paris but what about the airport near your town wich would be unknow
and thus have a low count of pax ? Also it would render bush flying less intteresting.

The next update will include variation in pax number based on the date and day...
(more pax before christmas, more pax on monday etc etc) this should add variation
and please everyone.

I like that idea!

Edited because I just noticed that I put quotes on the word, "like."

wow, I thought FSP already did this to a degree already???? I seem to notice at airports I frequent more often, I have more pax waiting.
When I travel somewhere I have not been to before in FSP, there are always less available passengers

Dan not a very good idea. In India we have 360 festivals almost everyday is a holiday for someone or the other!! Turning

That does happen. The more you fly out of a particular airport the more comfortable the pax are with flying with you whereas some other
place youve never been they can only go by your reputation
