PSS 777 - xvxmatthewxvx - 20-12-2005

Thinking about getting the PSS 777, but not sure if its worth it. Are they at the same level as the LDS and PMDG planes?

Any any general impressions about them/issues? Thanks! Smile

Re: PSS 777 - Nasder - 20-12-2005

There's a few problem with them, but according to the forums, there's a patch in the working, or so it seems. I could be completely wrong.

But overall it's quite good, but I wouldn't fully recomend it. There are alot of other great planes out there. If you don't got all the PMDG boeing
planes, buy them first Smile

Compared to LDS and PMDG the PSS T7 looks a bit cartoonish, both exterior and interior, don't get me wrong, it still looks good. The FMC can import
default FS9 flightplans too. But It's way more expensive than the LDS or PMDG, and some of the free user edit liveries aren't that good in quality
sadly (while many are great). And paying 7 euros for a livery doesn't cut it yet in my book.

I got no issue with it except a balance issue. But like I said, if you don't own every PMDG boeing plane yet, buy those first, they are all much
better, atleast that's what I think.

Re: PSS 777 - jboweruk - 20-12-2005

There isn't a better T7 out there right now, I've only had mine up for a quick spin and one USAF flight into Egypt, unfortunately I hit a
downdraft and the .... er.. . autoland didn't flare in time as a result. Dammit whoever saw a Thunderstorm over Cairo anyway.

Re: PSS 777 - xvxmatthewxvx - 20-12-2005

Thanks all! One thing you said, the PSS 777's FMC is more complex? How?

Yes I have the LDS and all the PMDG big airliners, I didn't bother with their small planes. Not too interested in those Smile

Re: PSS 777 - Nasder - 20-12-2005

I haven't looked in to the FMC that deep yet. I'm still fying the PMDG planes and will switch to the LDS 767 soon Smile

Re: PSS 777 - xvxmatthewxvx - 20-12-2005

Another thing that kinda bugs me, the price for the 100% complete package is over 100 pounds! More than 200 dollars! Thats crazy, I
would expect it to be the best addon to date for that much. I kinda don't like to buy from places, even though they may be "ok" or good" if
they are trying to screw you. Hunappy And the 15-20 dollars per addon livery is just robbery.

Re: PSS 777 - Nasder - 20-12-2005

Here, it's the avsim.com PSS 777 review if you haven't read it

http://www.avsim.com/pages/1205/777/777.htm

Re: PSS 777 - xvxmatthewxvx - 20-12-2005

Thanks alot! Smile I have read that review (yes im quick Wink) and because of an upcoming trip, the price is just too much and although
its "good" it feels kinda like a ripoff. More than 200$ for the total package... jeez!

Although I like the 777, because of PMDG and LDS, I have high expectations. Wink

Even (just my opinion) the PMDG (although I truely love the 747 and 737) isn't quite what I like compared to the LDS. Although I don't care
much for the 767 I just love flying it! I really can't say there is any flaws with it that I can see. Everything is easy to setup. The PMDGs I find
are a bit picky, so all in all, the PSS I don't think is for me.

Re: PSS 777 - Nasder - 20-12-2005

I bought the base around 620SEK (alot for me), And I live on the freeware liveries or make my own. I'm good enough to do repaints of some of the
aircrats I want to fly atleast Smile

If you like "smaller" planes, have a look at the Flight1 ATR72-500 or Super80, both are rather complex and very nice.

Re: PSS 777 - Dutch64 - 20-12-2005

But why would you like to buy all those liveries? I bought the 200 and 300 series each with one livery i expect to fly. Furthermore, the more you buy,
the more discount you get. I think i payed for both planes something like 29pound which is roughly 45 euro. Very reasonable i think.
I can't see how this plane is more expensive than the pmdg??
And some free liveries may not be that good but most of them are done very, very well.

You're right, the price ain't that high when you think about it. BUT I feel that the thre models are very very similar. (I bought the pack with all
three) it set me back around 620SEK, This is very similar what I payed for like the entire PMDG 737 series and the PMDG Beechcraft 1900D. So it's not
that expensive, all though the liveries are.

And again, the free liveries are very good, while some are very bad. I often check the livery out in photoshop before I install them to save me from
the bad ones. So it's not a big deal. Maybe what makes it look expensive because it's a single cost of 620SEK, while the PMDG 737 series and 1900D
where three seperate costs.

But even this, I still recomend getting all the PMDG boeing planes and the LDS 767 before getting the PSS T7.

Re: PSS 777 - MarBergi - 21-12-2005

I recently bought the PSS777-200lr, it cost me €30 I think, and came with the default Boeing house colours. However, there is a merge
file that lets you merge the PSS777 to the respective Meljet 777(check the hobby forum on airliners.net). This allows you to use any
meljet repaint basicily for free.

Re: PSS 777 - Navymmw - 24-01-2006
