dont have to pilot term directly but since no one answered yet i will explain the best i can. lnav-- in order for the plain to navigate to
destination... vnav---for the plane to climb to desired altitude that you set with proper climb speed

Re: Please Help Me!!! - samiranks - 20-12-2005

oh... crs-- desired setting to where youre going eg. if your landing runway 33L in Boston Logan then youll set that CRS to course number
of the rwy 331 hope that helps a bit. Smile

Re: Please Help Me!!! - runibl - 20-12-2005

I think Brad would be better than me to explain, but here goes.
This I got from the manual

LNAV: Lateral Navigation. Pressing it transfers roll and yaw (heading) controls to the FMC
VNAV: Vertical Navigation. Pressing it transfers pitch and speed modes and autothrottle to the fmc.

I didn't find anything in the manual about Course so i'll try to explain (mind you I am not very good at explaining but i'll try, so bear with me).

You use Course for instance to set up an ILS landing, you set it to show the flight path towards the runway for you or the autopilot to follow. It is
also used for VOR navigation and so forth, but I'm not sure how to explain that, so i'll let someone else to to it.

I hope that helpes, and if I need correction than please correct me.
