(Off Topic) IE Explorer and Avsim - vollmey - 21-11-2005 Something has changed in my internet explorer and I need some help. When downloading from Avsim I don't get the box that pops up and shows where the file is going and the speed of the download etc... Now all I get is down in the right corner is shows that it's downloading and then when the file is done a new screen pops up with the files in it, but I cannot cut and paste or move files at all. The downloads are going into the temp internet files now but they do not show up if you go look for them, they only show up when I am done downloading. I have gone through the internet options and changed everything I can find back to default settings but still no luck. Give me some ideas here. Thanks Re: (Off Topic) IE Explorer and Avsim - JayKae - 21-11-2005 Try this: Go into internet options, security tab, click on custom level and scroll down to this part ![]() Make sure that it looks like that, other then that there is always the reset to defaults button on each tab, try them one by one until it is reverted back to how it was. Hope it helps Re: (Off Topic) IE Explorer and Avsim - jboweruk - 21-11-2005 surely that automatic prompting for file downloads should be enabled? Pretty sure that is how it is on my machine and I get the query asking where I want it to go. Re: (Off Topic) IE Explorer and Avsim - vollmey - 21-11-2005 Jay and jboweruk: Nope none of that worked, I even clicked the tab for automatic prompting and no go. It's weird, Avsim seems to be the only site that I have this problem, I can download from other places and it will prompt me and I can go from there. I don't have a problem with it downloading with out a prompt but I just can cut and paste so downloading a file is worthless. I'll play around with it some more. Re: (Off Topic) IE Explorer and Avsim - JayKae - 21-11-2005 Hmmm maybe you should try the default settings on each page as I suggested? Post Edited ( 11-21-05 23:58 ) |
