Jetsgo [the airline] - Jetsgo - 12-10-2005

I'm sure the Canadians in the forum have heard of Jetsgo and it's wonderful last few months in the airline business Smile lol. I was just
wondering if anyone knew, Jetsgo was supose to release a new airline, does anyone know when (or if) it will be out any time soon? I
loved Jetsgo! Best airline ever! I hope that it is in effect anymore, although it may not be....

lol

For those of you who don't know what the heck I'm talking about, go to http://www.Jetsgo.net

Re: Jetsgo [the airline] - Jetsgo - 13-10-2005

Update... I just found this..

"Soon after its demise, the company pledged to make a comeback as a charter-only airline, but on May 13, 2005, the airline officially
declared bankruptcy, cancelled plans to relaunch service, and began the process of liquidation."

Ahh well that sucks, anyone else here flown with Jetsgo? Let's start an I Love Jetsgo club Smile

lol Actually, Jetsgo was REALLY cheap, it was our low-fare airline.. now replaced by Westjet. I would say you could get a flight from
Toronto the the Dominican Republic for 300$, lol.

Join my club.... we've got candy....just don't take notice to the fact that Jetsgo is no longer an airline, and all of it's fleet are being sold for
liquidation Smile

Re: Jetsgo [the airline] - Dutch64 - 13-10-2005

Talking about 'cheap', there's a new airliner starting up here which will fly to all european destinations for 29 euro.... That's including all taxes
and everything... How will they ever do that? Maybe by buying old planes of which "the former owner is known for not maintaining his aircraft" ?Smile
Anyhow, i prefer to pay a few euro extra and fly with a company with a good reputation.... Prejudice? Sure.Wink

I'm from the Netherlands and this evening i was reading more about it. It's not a startup of a new airliner as they first mentioned on the news but in
fact a supermarket chain ( Dirk van den Broek). They've bought 15.000 tickets from Air Berlin and will sell them to all destinations for 29 euro.
That's INCL. tax.. (tax alone is often more than that already). They said if it will be a success, they will buy another 100.000 tickets and so on...

Edit: Just now read also it will include also food and drinks on board....

Re: Jetsgo [the airline] - eazy - 14-10-2005

German discounters Aldi and Penny did the same in June and September. They're not earning on the tickets but get more customers
to their shops. That's where they make the money.

Re: Jetsgo [the airline] - SWAFO - 14-10-2005

The 29 Euro fee for all destinations sounds most likely like a promotional deal to build a customer base. Southwest has done MANY of
these (we still do them today). Currently, we have some routes that cost $29-39 one way. These tickets have to be purchased in certain
ways (online mostly), and are usually of limited time span.

If the airline is selling it's seats PERMANENTLY at 29 Euro to any and all destinations, you can be certain that they will soon be out of
business!!! Smile

Re: Jetsgo [the airline] - Dutch64 - 14-10-2005

Yes, it will be promotional for sure. But hey, for as long as it goes it's a cheap way to visit some European cities Smile
