Fs2004 island hopping - Sam Breese - 15-09-2005 I have just started my own airline using fspassengers but I don't know where to fly. I own a cessna and a piper cub and i want to fly to destinations as realistically as possible. has anyone got any ideas for where it is a great place to fly for island hopping? Re: Fs2004 island hopping - HH-60CC - 15-09-2005 Okinawa, Japan is great for island hopping, both in real life and in Flight Sim. Im stationed out here, and I'm a student pilot. Very beautiful islands out here, see for yourself: http://www.emopirates.com/~mgillette/fly/kerama/kerama.ppt I took these pics today on a cross country to Kerama Island Re: Fs2004 island hopping - SaVas - 15-09-2005 Can also try the Caribbean - Bahamas, US and British V.I., Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Florida Keys, Curacao, Aruba, etc. Also there is a new freeware scenery by Freeflow for the Bahamas that is fantastic and full of eye candy for the VFR pilot. You can get it at Avsim.com EDIT: There is also Alaska which has a number of islands that you can fly, and it will be getting cold there soon so the landscape will change to snow cover. Its also quite scenic and once your airline gets bigger, there are larger airports - Juneau, Ketchikan, and Stevens Anchorage (latter for even 747 sized aircraft) Alaska is very scenic and there are a LOT of freeware meshes and downloads for it throughout the simming community These are the two places my airline flies (Keezaire - started in Key West and recently purchased a 737-200, 737-800, and now a 757-200) so now I fly trans continental routes and longer hops *grins*) Post Edited ( 09-15-05 15:07 ) Re: Fs2004 island hopping - SWAFO - 15-09-2005 Nobody here likes Hawaii? Great islands for hopping around! I was there a good 10 years ago, and loved travelling between the islands! There are wonderful freeware Airport scenerys out at AVISIM. My travels have taken me to Falkland Islands, Brazil,Taiwan, Hawaii (crashed twice there), Caribbean, Mexico, Hong Kong. On FS2004, THE WORLD IS YOURS. Give your pax a fancy TREAT! Re: Fs2004 island hopping - poden - 15-09-2005 There's lots of places you can island hop. My favorite is the Caribbean, but that's just one area. Re: Fs2004 island hopping - Fritz Bayerlein - 16-09-2005 I use the Hawaiian islands a lot for island hopping. Honolulu to Hilo is a good flight, not bad for making about $2 million a hop. Re: Fs2004 island hopping - SWAFO - 16-09-2005 I fly SWA routes, exclusively! ![]() FS99 flight routing! Re: Fs2004 island hopping - Sam Breese - 16-09-2005 thanks guys for all your great ideas. I think i'll base my airline in the Caribbean because It's seems to have lots of good airports and lots of islands, cheers. Breese, the teenage glider pilot ! ![]() |
