[TOPIC MOVED]FS9 Freezes when using FS Passengers - bofficer - 06-09-2005

When using fs passengers, I get half way through the flight and bam! FS9 freezes. It usually starts with a popping
sound followed by a
piercing tone, then the freeze out.

I have the latest fs passengers upgrade
All drivers are updated-video and sound card ATI X700, Audigy 2 ZS gamer
I use PMDG add ons and LvlD
ASV
UT
WideFS 6.50
FSUIPC 3.50
Radar Contact 3
FS FlightKeeper

Everything works fine without fs passenges. It's when I run fs passengers I run into problems.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

So FS is freezing after you encounter some sound problems? I have the same soundcard as you, and have noticed the same sound
issues with some games (although not FS). It sounds like your soundcard could simply be overloading your system. Try going into
DirectX Diagnostics, and turning down sound hardware acceleration by a notch or two. If that doesn't work, try completely disabling it.
From what I've heard, this works in most cases.

To get into DX DIAG: Start, Run, dxdiag. From here click on the sound tab, then adjust the acceleration level.

Hope this helps. If not, let us know!

By the way, this is not really related to FSP (since FSP doesn't introduce anything that would cause this sort of malfunction), so I'm
moving this post to the FS9 forum.

Brad,
Thanks for the input. However, did you read that it only occurs when I run FS Passengers?

Re: [TOPIC MOVED]FS9 Freezes when using FS Passengers - SWAFO - 06-09-2005

Brian,
Yes, I did... however we've had users report similiar issues previously and they've always been related to something other than FSP
(usually their soundcard settings, or FS9 itself). I don't recall the exact solutions to these problems in the past (a forum search might be
helpful), and you might also want to try what I had recommended.

I just generally felt your message belonged in the FS9 forum. It sounded more geared towards an issue not directly related to FSP. It's
still here though!

Did you try my recommendation? Any luck?

Brad,

I did make the adjustments, but I have not been able to fire up the sim tonight to see if it works. I will have to wait a couple of days. I am
headed out on a two day trip tomorrow. I will let you know.
