[SOLVED] missing call signs - FSfreak - 05-07-2005 Hi all a few weeks ago I downloaded a Boeing 737-700 "westjet airlines" only to find out that the callsign westjet was missing. how can i fix this? do i edit the Aircraft.cfg of those planes, what do i put in the Airlines.cfg file?? Thanks PS I am also having this trouble with a Horizon air Bombardier Q400 Re: missing call signs - samiranks - 05-07-2005 well youll have to edit the aircraft.cfg but youll have to know the real atc call sign for west jet and youll put it in something like atc_id if i remember correctly. Im at work now so i cant actually look at the config but theyre two places for atc entry.. Re: missing call signs - LukeJGerst - 05-07-2005 If you're looking for the ATC to actually say "westjet", you'll have to get a recorded sound, insert it with the proper name into a wav file somewhere(Sorry I don't know the specifics of either), then add it to your airlines.cfg. See if that works though you might have to tweak it some more. I don't know, I've never messed with FS ATC. Re: missing call signs - bdparris - 06-07-2005 You could try EditVoicePak. http://www.editvoicepak.com It has hundreds of callsigns for different airlines and military and you can make your own. You would add Westjet just after the line in your aircraft's cfg that says atc_airline= You could also just change it at the create a flight menu when you select your aircraft, but if want to change the cfg you can do it this way: An example of a Aeroflot 737 [fltsim.5] title=Boeing 737-400 Aeroflot sim=Boeing737-400 model= panel= sound= texture=su kb_checklists=Boeing737-400_check kb_reference=Boeing737-400_ref atc_id=VP-BAR <--------------------------------This is the registration number of the aircraft atc_airline=Aeroflot <-------------------------------This is the callsign that MSFS Atc uses can be a number of things with EditVoicepak atc_flight_number=1123 <-----------If you get tired of hearing Aeroflot 1123 heavy all the time, delete the 1123 here and it will use the id ui_manufacturer=Boeing line instead of this one ui_type="737-400" ui_variation="Aeroflot" visual_damage=1 Also if you don't have the line in there, you can add it. I hope I haven't confused you about this. Here is another example that may be easier for you. [fltsim.0] JABIndex=1 title=Westjet Airlines "James Bond" Boeing 737-700 sim=737700 model=winglet panel= sound= texture= checklists= kb_checklists=Boeing737-400_check kb_reference=Boeing737-400_ref atc_id= atc_airline=Westjet atc_flight_number=007 ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=737-700 ui_variation=Westjet Airlines "James Bond" description=Kittyhawk Studios 737-700 atc_heavy=0 visual_damage=1 Re: missing call signs - samiranks - 06-07-2005 maybe you should try getting ultimate traffic or maybe just going to http://www.mostrealisticai.com youll see alot of ai timeschedule, the downloader and it also has a wizard to install it correctly Re: missing call signs - chilubs - 06-07-2005 FSfreak, bdparris is quite right, voiceditpak is a great program, free and easy to use. I have three Westjet planes and with voice edit you will hear the call sign. As far as Horizon Airlines, voiceditpak gives you a choice of either hearing.. "Horizon Air" or "Horizon", depending on what you have written after atc_airline= . If you are interested in other Canadian Airlines it also adds First Air, Canadian North (Empress) and many more. I think you will find it, like FS Passengers will greatly add to the emersion factor. Hope this helps out. Also would like to mention to Dan that i am looking forword to release, i have been waiting for a program like this to come along for a long time (since the days of fs maintenance , wishing you well Dan, it takes alot of courage to work this long and hard on a project and i hope it sells big. Re: missing call signs - LukeJGerst - 06-07-2005 The link doesn't work for me, bdparris. Re: missing call signs - bdparris - 07-07-2005 Try http://www.editvoicepack.com/ or type in editvoicepak in Google and you will get the right web page. For some reason the link doesn't seem to work from here, but when I type it in manually it works. For some reason the link The link works for me. Editvoicepack is a "TOP 10" utility program that all FS9 users should have in my opinion. PR Re: missing call signs - JayKae - 07-07-2005 Also don't forget to download all the add-ons for it from flightsim.com guys... they add a lot of companies that were forgotten Re: missing call signs - rusty11 - 08-07-2005 I finally tried the editvoice program and it was the easiest thing I've ever done thanks alot for that Re: missing call signs - bdparris - 11-07-2005 No problem. Re: [SOLVED] missing call signs - jboweruk - 11-07-2005 I think a lot of airlines were recorded by MS, but for licensing reasons they could not be used by default. I did find even w/out editvoicepack that just editing the airlines.cfg file the default ATC began to say them. If you look on flightsim.com or avsim they have a file(originally for fs02 but it still holds good in fs9) that replaces your airlines.cfg with one that holds most realworld airlines. |
