What went wrong??? - savage - 11-10-2005

Hi,

Climbing to FL380, arround FL320, I hear a *loud* BANG. That's it. Declared emergency, decended below 10000ft (just incase it was
decompression), and proceeded to the nearest airport for emergency landing. Landed very rough (but safely and in one piece), ended
the flight, looked at my report... Well yes. I did the right thing for declaring my emergency and landing, but absolutely NO info on the report
as to what the actual problem was????

No idea, i don't think decompression though because you will hear the wind blowing all the time in that caseSmile

Re: What went wrong??? - jboweruk - 11-10-2005

The bang may have been a stewardess' trolley? You hit the tail on landing though, don't wanna be doing that. :D

Re: What went wrong??? - savage - 11-10-2005

Wouldn't have been a trolly. Otherwise I would have been penalised for declaring the emergency.... Something definately happened Hunappy

Re: What went wrong??? - SaVas - 11-10-2005

Maybe your tail struck the ground upon takeoff?

There was a problem aboard and you declared an emergency. (+50 only you caused the problem)

Maybe the emergency took effect after you landed? Could be a bug issue, not quite sure. You declared an emergency before it happened,
hit the tail on landing creating an emergency. Only thing I can think of since thats the only thing in the flight report that says anything about
what might be the problem

First time I heard a bang in flight it was the flight attendant bringing me coffee

Re: What went wrong??? - savage - 11-10-2005

Hmmm... Didn't see the "you caused the problem" part... Perhaps I did something then through all *my* terror and grief Smile

I do know about the bang caused by the flight attendants, but this was different. This almost sounded like a tire poping, or a window or a
engine blowing up.... Naturally, looking at the instruments I saw no problems, I should have just trusted my gut and gone on with the flight.

Just went through all the fsp sounds, and the sound I heard is not there... So it must have been something else. It's just strange though,
bcos pax fear went up 20% odd after the 'bang', and 30% (as normal), after declaring the emergency.... But oh well.

Obviously this wasn't a FSP failure then....

Very odd, remember you can check to see if you have emergencies by turning the feature on in your mini-report.

Re: What went wrong??? - pagir - 11-10-2005

Maybe the "bang" was coming from your home and not the computer... Did you check your windows? Big Grin lol

Maybe you triggered yourself the emergency after the bang when flying down, with all your pax flying around and all the dangerous
manoeuvres...
