fs9 is too heavy to flight - red_baron - 10-10-2005

fs9 is too heavy to flight with fsp, when fsp run in fs9 pls help me

Re: fs9 is too heavy to flight - Jackal - 10-10-2005

I'm not sure i follow what you mean here. any chance you could be more specific? are your aircraft gross weights too heavy?

Re: fs9 is too heavy to flight - red_baron - 10-10-2005

Smile no when i run fs9 its not problem . but run with fsp all config is too slow

Re: fs9 is too heavy to flight - Jackal - 10-10-2005

oh i see... your system/computer struggles with the "workload"? mine does as well al little bit. But only during taxi for reason. I get a bit of
a choppy sound. It comes good usually, i've just had to tweak my settings a little bit lower (not much, mind you) and it seems to have fixed
it. try turning down some settings you think you can live without... (for instance i can't tell the difference between high quality sounds and
low quality sounds)

hopes this helps?

And set your traffc at a lower rate like 30 or 40 %. Just experiment with some settings.
Is your framerate going down at certain situations, like being at an airport, or is it continuous?

What is the impact on you frame rate (fps, press Shift-z one or two times to get the fsp)?

Pagir

My Sys is
P4 2,23
512 RAM
128MB Ati readron 9200
40GB Hd
How is config. for FSP +FS9

Re: fs9 is too heavy to flight - Dutch64 - 10-10-2005

Though not the fastest around your system should be able to run fs9 and fsp well enough. Just make sure you don't put all the sliders to max in your
setup. You can maybe even better first use all minimum settings in your fs9 setup and by and by move slowly some sliders to the right and see how it affects performance.
Do you have any other addons like airports or a weather program?

Your graphics card is the achilles heel. Better of with a Radeon 9800 Pro at least.

Re: fs9 is too heavy to flight - Dutch64 - 10-10-2005

As far as for flightsimming, a better graphicscard won't do much on your fps. Better would be to invest in a faster cpu and maybe some additional
memory. I went from an Radeon 9200 to Nvidia 6600 GT and had only a few percent improvement on fps (The graphics itself looked much better though).
When i exchanged my 1800 CPU for a 3500, it trippled my fps

Re: fs9 is too heavy to flight - Jetflyer - 10-10-2005

I don't necessarily agree here, I had a system with a Athlon XP 2500+ (about the same performance as a P4 2.23Ghz) and it was crap with a NVIDIA
GeForce FX 5500 until I installed a Radeon 9800 Pro and then the performance was more like my current system. But the CPU could do with being
improved, although I tend to think that Intel P4 CPU's are better for FS2004 than Athlons because FS2004 takes up less of the CPU's thinking capacity
(look in the task manager to find this out). In short that means it is more capable. That's why I bought a P4 3Ghz which still does the job well.

Re: fs9 is too heavy to flight - Dutch64 - 10-10-2005

Hmmm, yes, that's true also. Now checking his specs again, a 40 GB hard disk? Maybe it's getting a bit full? When less then 10% free space windows can
slow down tremendously. So in fact, if you want better performance, your whole pc might need an upgradeSmile

Re: fs9 is too heavy to flight - Glasgow_Approach - 10-10-2005

all well and good but when someone needs to find out what they can do to make fs9 run faster/smoother the answer can never be
(UPGRADE YOUR COMPUTER/PROCESSOR/GRAPHICS/CARD/MEMORY IN FACT JUST BUY A NEW COMPUTER). Its a bit of a cop
out answer dont you think guys.

What is your fs settings, what other add ons are you running. are you using payware planes. Turn off all weather and traffic, turn all
settings down to zero disconnect from the internet and try fspassengers if the load is still too great then you will probably have a problem
with some process doing somthing it shouldnt, perhaps a virus or a virus scanner / firewall. If the load is ok then bring back all your
settings bit by bit till you get the appropriate payoff between performance and quality. Check your hard disk first, if its nearly full then you
will need to delete stuff off it then defragment it.

If your really going to upgrade your hardware then remember fs9 has a way of sucking all possible resources it can lay its hands on,
there is no optimal system for it. The number one upgrade is the processor followed distantly by graphics card and memory. Doing
things such as doubling memory may not work if your processor isnt strong enough because instead of throwing 1 gig around the
processor now throws 2 around which will slow things down.

my spec is this

p4 3.4 800mhz fsb htt on asus p5gd2 deluxe (thinkin of overclockin)
x800xt asus pci-e
1 gig ddr2 5300 ( upgrading to 2 gig)
raptor sata 80gig 10000rpm

all fsgenesis mesh
acive sky
ultimate traffic
fspassengers
all settings maxed(except scenery casting ground shadows)

and it can still get jerky when flying into new york>

ermm, yes, GA, all you mentioned just there, we mentioned also...Wink Just check my posts in this thread again... But there is not much reply from the
poster so started to think on, like we don't know what his settings are and noticing his specs, well, the rest you can read aboveSmile

Would like to add another thought (and some more about poor systems):

Until a couple of weeks my system was this:
P4 1.7
512 MB
Geforce 3Ti 200 (sic!!!)

Believe it or not, this IS flyable. I had average framerates of about 18fps with a lot of reduced settings, especially clouds. I could even fly
the F1 ATR if it wasn't destination add-on airport. (I decided for a new PC after I had bought Sim-Wings France1 scenery which slowed
down to 7fps).

However, the difference between flying with FSP and without was zero. Absolutely no impact on framerates. Now, compared to my old PC
the one of the poster is a rocket! That's why I think this guy might have another problem with FSP, like maybe a driver issue or something
like that.
Compare this thread: http://www.fspassengers.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5308&pid=55872#pid55872
Seems like Radeon cards have problems with certain system specs.

Serdar, you could try to switch off the mini-display (Ctrl-Shft-V) and see if it changes anything.

To stop you others from crying for me (or laughing at me), here's my new sys:
AMD64 3500+
1 GB
ATI X800 Pro
260 GB S-ATA

makes a difference Wink
