Question & Congratulations - Kpeters - 05-10-2005 Hi guys, being lurking in the forums for quite a while now, congratuliaitons to Dan and his team for this exceptional add on, right now im trying the Demo but will be surely buying it as soon as I find some cash! Just a question, I have used the search function for this but my question was not answered....Everytime I do a belly landing it goes wron, even if I kiss the ground. With Fs9 crash enabled: -I made 3 times a kiss belly land and before the aircraft stops completely it reports a crash!!!! With Fs9 crash disabled: -Made the belly landing and when the aircraft stopped it starting jumping like crazy! What could the problem be? Im using a Sud Aviation caravelle. (No cash on the airline lol) ![]() Re: Question & Congratulations - pagir - 05-10-2005 I think SaVas know the solution to this problem... Something about refreshing the scenery ??? ![]() Pagir Re: Question & Congratulations - SaVas - 05-10-2005 Quote:pagir wrote: Setting a key assignment for Scenery refresh only works for after one lands with the gear down and the scenery is slowly refreshing causing changes in elevation of your terrain mesh, not for contact points being wrong in the aircraft.cfg file Bounching with the crash disabled in FS9 is normal because your airplane isnt actually "landing" without the gear. Same reason when no crash detection is on and you "crash" into the water your aircraft jumps back up to an elevation of 500 ft. Land/water has what I like to call a force field around it without crash detection on. However to the original question why one crashes immediately when trying a belly landing, it might have something to do with the aircraft.cfg file and I think the line is damage [something not sure what]=0 might need to change it to 1 Im at work so dont have a cfg file to look at. Re: Question & Congratulations - Kpeters - 05-10-2005 Actually when I do a belly landing the crash is not immediate. but it happens after the plane has skidded about 1000feet down the runway and it's almost at say 10-20knots maybe or a little bit more. So you see the crash happens when the plane is about to stop :S Re: Question & Congratulations - pagir - 05-10-2005 The belly landing with FsP is not really a belly landing because Fs9 don't allow belly landing... Believe it or not, and I don't know how Dan did that, but the plane actually land on landing gear... but without the gear... He explains that during beta testing, but it's so long ago ![]() So maybe it's a case of scenery refresh... You can try it anyway! Pagir Re: Question & Congratulations - SaVas - 05-10-2005 Before you come in for a landing hit your scenery refresh key that you assigned Re: Question & Congratulations - SE-TMA - 05-10-2005 Also, try to reduce speed EVEN more, so that you don't skid so far. I had problems belly landing as well, but after slowing down and not skidding so far, the problems stopped. It could be that it simply...burns through the floor :P Re: Question & Congratulations - Kpeters - 05-10-2005 Hmmm I'll try all of that stuff guys thanks :D ! Re: Question & Congratulations - omarza - 05-10-2005 I can tell you one thing... i had the most spectacular wheels-up a while back in the MAAM DC3... that was without FsP as I did a couple of tests. Sound and effects were great... especially when I replayed and switched to the external view and saw all those effects... amazing. Everytime I fly the MAAM DC3 now I want to do a wheels-up ![]() I thought I would show you altho this images is not close to the real exprince but gives an idea... Second of touchdown... notice blades running on touchdown http://img367.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dc312ub.jpg ![]() Skidding along... http://img59.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dc320qh.jpg ![]() Post Edited ( 10-06-05 01:25 ) Re: Question & Congratulations - Dutch64 - 06-10-2005 Quote:omarza wrote: ![]() ![]() Re: Question & Congratulations - SWAFO - 06-10-2005 I've actually never tried a belly landing with FSP. I'll have to try it ![]() |
