Graphics card transfer..? - Jetsgo - 02-01-2007

Okay, so heres the deal.

FSX can't run on the computer at my dad's house, because I have a crappy Intel Family Chipset graphics card. BUT, at my mom's house,
I just happened to look at the tower, and I see "Graphics: Integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE - PCI Express Slot".

The first question is - will this NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE - PCI Express Slot be good enough to run FSX?

The second is - should I bother switching graphics cards between the two computers?

Thanks Wink

Hi,

1.) maybe yes maybe no, it really depends on other things too, you know like Ghz of procesor and of course the amount of RAM available
on your system. I am running FS9 on a graphics card which has about the same performance like yours mentioned, and with 2.2Ghz
and 1GB RAM and it works really fine. Can“t tell you much about FSX though but i guess it should run in a playable manner if you do not
adjust the graphics quality too high ect. Of course if you have the money to spend you can get much better performance when buying a
better graphics card. The one you mentioned is some kind of "average" thing not the ones game freaks would chose.

2.) If the other computer is better equipped and faster why not!

Greetings

Victor

You can do better than that. A guy over at flightsim.com pointed me to a BFG 7900 (GT?) that NewEgg has for less than $200. (I think it
was $170 or something.) This is ONE of the best you can get right now at a decent price. The absolute best is the 8800 but that's going
for $650 as it's the only DX10 card out at the moment.

And I concur with Garbagecan (Smile), Processor power and ram come before video card so get those where they need to be first. When I
went from an ATI 9200 to a 9800XT, I saw little difference in PERFORMANCE with FS9 but, going from an Athlon XP to Athlon 64 was like
going from a Pinto to a Ferrari! Smile
