ETA - American Jet - 10-10-2006 Ok, hopefully best buy will have this. Can I get a link where you got this FsX Pilot's handbook. Re: FSX Book. ETA - SWVA5630 - 11-10-2006 the book is worthless. It tells you nothing you don't already know and some say it is almost an exact duplicate of the FS9 book with a few more pages thrown in for good measure. Re: FSX Book. ETA - SirN - 12-10-2006 I love the way the book describes a good/"dream" hardware pc for FS X: 3.4Ghz or higher 2-4 GB ram 100GB HD NVidia GTX 7800 512MB video card x2 (2 cards SLI configuration) or similar ATI such as X1900 512MB Radeon High Speed Internet FS X is very demanding on the harware but off course its related to the settings, I have nerfed down the settings a lot to manage, I have: 3.2Ghz Duo (not core 2 DUO) NVidia 6600GT 128MB 3GB ram Re: FSX Book. ETA - Dutch64 - 12-10-2006 The blog of one of the guys of the aces team said that fsx is developed in such a way that hardware in about 2 years from now will be sufficient to run fsx with most sliders on the right. So, at the moment, even when dx10 and related hardware will be available, it will be a matter of using the sliders very careful. Re: FSX Book. ETA - hyderpotter - 13-10-2006 I have order my copy of the game and I getting the book for Christmas. I get to save some of my Job Seekers money Re: FSX Book. ETA - SirN - 13-10-2006 Quote:Dutch64 wrote: yes, I quote the book further: " FS X is designed to perform on high-powered hardware that is not yet available to the general public, so even three or four years down the road, FS X can still challenge even the most robust hardware while providing stunning simulation. So if you have a fast PC, don't fall into the trap of maxing-out all of the sliders immediately, because you are no doubt to bring your machine to its knees." Anyway, I have Nvidia 6600GT 128MB and an 7800GT is 3 times better, I will buy that upgrade when its very cheap when dx10 cards are out! |
