Unfortunately I won't be home tonight so I can fly my own whimpy departure (maybe in a Cessna or so)

Just did leg 66 offline. I had some severe weather at takeoff. A lot of lightning, moderate to heavy rain, and heavy turbulence. I had a hard time
climbing away from it, but reaching FL380 i got a calm flight rest of the way.

What a pity Runi. I think we did that flight at the same time. If I knew you'd be flying....And we probably had the same weather in Quito. Shaking like hell

Damn, i should have announced it.
I tried like crazy to get a pic of the lightning, but gave up at the end.

Very good pics Runi, especially on leg 65 album SEQU-SPIM. Even without lightnings
Catching lightnings with the screenshot key is something like catching frogs with a lasso... Forget it, take rather a net scoop
So, I use fraps ( http://www.fraps.com )and start a video. I stop the record after a pretty lightning and start a new record and so on.
After the flight. I open the avi, replay the end frame by frame and pick those giving an image I like.
Such way can also be usefull to catch a landing or any event lasting as short as a... lightning
