Re: Blowing tires on every landing - albatros - 31-01-2009

O.K. Goose...you made your point....I respect it....But......
I had PsPassenger for F9, and enjoyed it and never I had a blow tire, because did not have such a thing......
If you made a poll regarding this subject, you will be surprise how many people agree with me, but maybe they will not say so, because
they feel ashamed.
This is a Game, agree as real as it get.....
Let us have the option. You will NEVER use it, I congratulate you for your expertise, let other people enjoy the game. Sorry for my English
but I am a mediocry simmer.

Hi Dan, I enjoy blowing my tires from time to time (sometimes happens on new planes I am not used to yet).
However if you are considering to fine tune this and it is feasible, I think that ideally this value(vertical speed threshold when tires can be blown) should be plane-dependent (that is be a part of payload model). In real life some planes are better suited for hard landings than others - and in game some players can handle some planes better than
others. Smile

Best regards

Good idea... I'll relay that...

My last tyre blowout was my fault - pulling back ont he yoke, but the yoke was not fixed to the desk properly, so I lost back pressure.

This is one aspect which really has ruined the rest of FSP. I whould really like to experience an engine blowout, or a fueltank leak at high
altitudes, without getting annoyed every time I make a landing.

Not all of us have a Joystick to land with and usually fly mostly with ILS, and nearly land with only this active.

If you are running FSX without a joystick, it was ruined before installing Passengers. Why put yourself through that torture? I tried it once, and it
was painful. I can't even think of a metaphor to describe it. It doesn't make any sense, either. Pilots do not fly airplanes with a keyboard.

Do yourself a favor and get a joystick. You can get a good one for the same price you got FSX.

Nah, this one satys open, unless you have a reason to close it?

(just locked the other one as it is a little pointless (aside from the voting) with this one being here aswell)

Re: Blowing tires on every landing - Buran - 04-02-2009

I just got fspassengersX, and I blew my tires to. I read on this forum to flare properly, so now I try to keep my decent rate under 800 ft/min when
touching down (in a 737), and this works perfectly!

See how well things come together on landing when done properly?

Re: Blowing tires on every landing - El Pablo - 06-02-2009

Hello, I wanted to comment that happens to me too often. I'm tired.
I do not know if it is something with the configuration of each airplane. Each plane will react differently, maybe.
Respect to enabling or not, it would be better regulated as a percentage of reality... maybe 70% of reality or something similar. Thank
you. Grrr

Re: Blowing tires on every landing - Myrm - 08-02-2009

Hi

I have to admit that the frequent blowing of the tyres is really spoiling FSXP for me. I landed with a descent rate of -53fpm, how can that
possibly warrant a tyre blow out?

I think it is a very good thing to have, but believe it should be an option. Therefore I am looking forward to the patch which allows this to be
controlled in the cfg Turning

Re: Blowing tires on every landing - starshoy - 09-02-2009

Finally could afford yesterday to buy Learjet 45. Did not blew tires in 5 or so flights yet. However, I suppose, that following "official" procedure
(establish 700 fpm descent rate, 140 kn, at 50ft after airfield threshold cut thorttle and do not adjust pitch until touchdown) will blow them often
or always. Just another reason to have descent rate as a parameter - removing it completely would eliminate all the thrill from landings Smile

Re: Blowing tires on every landing - Drew - 09-02-2009

Geez, and I thought I didn't use to be able to land and was the joke of the world tour guys.

I've had tyres blow only once and that was when I autolanded the ATR due to thick fog and not being able to see
the runway (couldn't be bothered to divert) (ps the ATR doesn't have auto landing hense the blown tyres)

What I would suggest to the people moaning about this penenty is to practise landing (like I had to) instead of
typing on here about it, and in a very short amount of time the penelty will not even be an issue.
