Re: My Fictitious Airline for FsP - JaWood - 07-05-2005

Ok, Kittyhawk Productions 737-800 is now finished in Libery Ailines livery. This is too much fun! I'm getting so excited making a whole fleet of
similarly painted aircraft.

I couldn't help admiring JaWood's great repaints, particularly in that they are almost exactly the same models I've chosen to repaint for our own
"Ficticious Airline" - West*Star Airlines. We fly out of WestCoastATC.com. Even the basics of the repaints are similar, which just goes to show that
great minds think alike!
lol

Here are the shots of ours taken at KSFO:

Can't wait to start using FSPassengers in our VA environment.

Re: My Fictitious Airline for FsP - DanSteph - 07-05-2005

Your skin look stunning...

Don't forget you can create specific payload model for each of your aircraft in FsP...
You only need to design a picture of any kind (real aircraft, side etc etc)
with 585x157 size and save it in JPG...

Somes example done by Sebastien for it's hown use yet:

Leave somes room on the image for weight info, number of passengers etc etc...

Then use the external payload editor included with FSP install to move the stickers info on it and
to write the ini file and your set, every time you will load this aircraft this payload will come automatically in the payload manager of FsP instead of the generic payload model...

You can design generic payload model (that will come automatically with every A330 for example)
or one specific that will come also automatically only for one model....

The result in FsP: (notice I cheated It show for the stock 737 while I don't have a 330)

I someone want the payload editor for testing I can put it in download here...

That would be great, Dan.

Re: My Fictitious Airline for FsP - DanSteph - 07-05-2005

here you are.... unzip where you want and click "payload_editor.exe"

http://www.fspassengers.com/images/payload_model.zip

I included only two default payload model as example, there is no help yet
but Immo it's simple to use...

[EDIT] I uploaded it again it was missing the background image by defaut...

Re: My Fictitious Airline for FsP - JaWood - 08-05-2005

Success!

I agree, it's pretty simple to use. The most dificult part was getting the .jpg the way I wanted it, but the rest is super easy.

By the way, I really like the airline paint scheme you posted, Deacon. It's very snazzy!

Re: My Fictitious Airline for FsP - DanSteph - 08-05-2005

Congrat ! it look good Wink

Yes, as you see the most hard part is to make the JPG image (if you want that it look
good otherwise you might simply take a picture of a real aircraft)

Using the payload editor once the jpg done usually take 5mn.

Now about name and automatic payload model:

When you ask to start a FsP flight , Fsp check the name of your aircraft
and scan the payload model folder to see if it can find a INI file with a
name that match the aircraft name...

If it find some it bring than at first the longer one that have a substring that
match and propose in the box the other one...

So an example:

You have your aircraft in Fs2004 that is called:

Boeing 737-800 west star airline

Now you can name your ini with several name, if you have some named:

Boeing 737-800 west star airline.INI
Boeing 737.INI
Boeing 737-800.ini
West Star Arline.ini

Of course the first one will come automatically but the other one will be available
in the drop list also while their name is in your aircraft name....

As I know my explainaition may be not clear I'll give an example of name that will
match or not... if several match the payload model with the longer INI name will be displayed:

Name of your aircraft: Boeing 737-800 west star airline

Match:
Boeing 737-800 west star airline.INI
Boeing 737.INI
Boeing 737-800.ini
West Star Arline.ini
West star.ini

don't match:
Boeing 737 800 west star airline.INI (because of the space)
Boeing 747.INI
Boeing 737-200.ini
West-Star-Arline.ini

So as you see if you want a generic payload model for all the 737-800 you might save
your ini at least three time to be sure to match any kind of name:

737-800.ini
737 800.ini
737/800.ini

Now if you want that your payload model come only for one aircraft
give the full name:
Boeing 737-800 west star airline.INI

Well... hope it's clear enough ?

Re: My Fictitious Airline for FsP - Deacon - 08-05-2005

Makes sense, Dan.

Here's a look at work-in-progress...the image adove was done by JaWood:

Without the BETA and the help file, I'm having to do some estimations on the CG values.

Re: My Fictitious Airline for FsP - DanSteph - 08-05-2005

I like much the new way of presenting all the aircraft specification...it rock...

When final will be out I'll open a upload/download section with a search engine
so anyone will be able to upload his "payload model" with an image...
(I plan to add a button "rate it" also) Wink

Re: My Fictitious Airline for FsP - Deacon - 08-05-2005

Here's another update that might help others visualize what they can do to customize. Actaully, this one looks a little busy to me, but, Hey!, it's a
holiday in the States, so I'm hanging it up for today:

Wow, some of these are turning out to be very original! Cool. I can see endless possibilities with these payload files.
