Re: Download problems - nem - 21-07-2005

Ok, Damien, one more time. Let me clear up some things first. Please read the following thoroughly. A second and third time, if need be. Wink

1. Micrsoft Flight Simulator 2004 is NOT the same as FSPassengers 2004. Lets get the names straight.

2. Micrsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (henceforth abbreviated "FS2004") is the basic game you need and which you (I guess) have already installed.

3. FSPassengers 2004 (henceforth abbreviated "FSP") is an add-on for FS2004, of which (I guess) you tried to download and install the
demo version, and which is supported in this very forum.

4. You most definitely don't have a download related problem, because if the SETUP of FSP starts to throw some error messages at you, it means that at
least the download of FSP went flawlessly.

5. Now what the setup of FSP tries to tell you is, that your installation of FS2004 is somewhat screwed up. Most Windows applications (and
games) register themselves with the operating system (that's what Windows is) by writing stuff to a special file, called the Registry. FSP
setup tells you, that it cannot find the stuff FS2004 should have written into the registry, hence it can't find your Flight Simulator, hence it won't
install itself.

6. If noone has a better suggestion you may have to REINSTALL your FS2004 to get it to register correctly with your operating system in the registry
file, so FSP can detect your FS2004 installation, so it can be installed, so you can try it out, so we will all live happily ever after.

And if this still didn't come through, then god help me. Smile

Re: Download problems [reopened as per original posters request] - Damien_Hell - 22-07-2005

I know this thread was just closed but I have a problem again I can download FSP completly now but when I load up the game it say. I downloaded and it
works now when I install it BUT when I load it up it creates a something called "a bad error" and says FSPassengers.dll has been renamed or something
and asks me to delete it. I click ok but it freezes my computer and forces me to restart it. And when I do
delete it, it makes FSPassengers not work and it becomes the normal game but there are no errors can you please help me out because I'm leaving Friday
at three pm and I'll be gone for about week.

Re: Download problems [reopened as per original posters request] - Damien_Hell - 22-07-2005

BAD ERROR
You have a renamed copy of FsPassengers.dll in Modules folder that is named FSPASSENGERS.DLL !!!! FsPassengers will now shut donw this bad instance.
Please exit now Fs2004 and delete this wrong DLL (FSPASSENGERS.DLL) from Modules folder of Fs2004 before relaunching Fs2004. FsPassengers will open
for you the Modules folder.
There is only one FsPassengers.dll and it is not the capitals one and when I delete that one FsPassengers doesn't turn on and the game works that same
as it always would. And if I rename it, it just causes the error again. When I try to delete it on the Modules page that the error pops up it says
that it is in use so I have to shut down the computer and restart it then find a way to get back to the modules page and delete it there. I have
downloaded it normally and I have right clicked and saved as and I have used the zip version.
