Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - JudgeDredd - 23-01-2008 By the way (I seen the previous "closed" thread and the discussion of XPax. I'd just like to say, in the absence of FSP for FSX, I bought XPax and it appears to be severely lacking in the functionality department. It helps with immersion to a degree, but it is wayyyyyyy off FSP from what I gather. I wouldn't class it as a wasted £13, but it wasn't what I was looking for. I will most likely be picking up FSP for FSX. Now, if I would be getting a discount of the FSX version, then I would buy the FS9 version right now! Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - DBE - 23-01-2008 Quote:JudgeDredd wrote: And to answer your question: YES, there will be a discount! So rush out and get a copy of the FS9 version, now! I promise you won't regret it (as I basically purchased FSP for the same reasons). Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - jeffreycor - 23-01-2008 I agree DBE, this program is well worth it. I got it as well for similer reasoning while waiting for the FSX version to come out and havn't even use FSX since getting it, FSP enhances FS that much! And FSPx looks to be even better, which in itself is a major accomplishment. ![]() Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - DanSteph - 24-01-2008 About "makeVoicePack utility" (see above) Gee, got sound filter and downsampling right... First time I do DSP coding (sound effect) Recording is in 48000 hz and then "radio effect" are applied (low/high pass) and the sample is downsampled to 8000hz 8 bit mono. (wav format of voicepack) Just wanted to voice that I'm happy ![]() I think I'll have a public beta of this utility within somes days. (public because it's a "minor" and simple things so basic feedback would fit) Dan Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - BOB - 24-01-2008 Hi Dan, Nice to see daily updates about the progress you're making. I visit the site everyday now to see if there is anything new. Nice that you make time to keep us posted. It keeps me motivated until the famous release day. looking forward to fsp for fsx regards Bob Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - ameval - 24-01-2008 I bought XPAX but eventually I'm just disapointed with it, is just too simple I I though it'd be more for example, it does not have failures and you cannot create your own company and buy aircrafts plus it just has te flight attendant announcements it doesn't have the copilot announcements such as ( Flaps 1 flaps 5 gear down and stuff) but anyways now I think I'm just gonna wait to fpx to come out it seems is gonna be excellent so I'll be patient this time ![]() Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - Jbl - 24-01-2008 Dan, Keep up the good work ! An aplause for u ![]() Jb Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - DanSteph - 25-01-2008 Coming up nicely, with this utility designing new voice pack will be a piece of cake. Here we have loaded one pack "euro copilot" wich contain only copilot sound. wav->yes mean this pack contain this sound, I recall FsPassengers play the default sound when it doesn't find one in a pack. text->yes mean this pack contain a user defined text that is displayed when FsPassengers play a sound. Same as above FsP display the default one if it doesn't find. ![]() How it work: Left click-> you hear your wav if present in pack Rigth click-> you can hear the default wav so you can know what this sound is about and record yours. Double left click-> will bring the "record" dialog wich will allow you to record your hown sound. This dialog will resample and filter the sound so no need for further treatment. The sound is ready to use. It will also allow to add automatically a "bell" call and background aircraft's noise. With this dialog you'll be able also to edit the text. In brief: standalone application, just press record, edit text (if you want) and your pack is ready. You don't need to mess with wav file, resample them or whatewer. Once done just zip the folder wich contain your pack if you want to pass it to friend or upload it. Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - ameval - 26-01-2008 wow thats cool, good job there man Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - PBR1 - 26-01-2008 Whohoo! Nice! Finally got around to regestering for the forums. ![]() Can't wait for FSPx, however I was just wondering, this new utility will work for the current FSP, correct? Will you be releasing this utility for use with FSP before FPSx is finished, or do we need to wait. Anyway, keep up the good work Dan! I'll be waiting patiently for FSPx! Keep up the hard work and try not to burn yourself out. Cheers! ![]() PBR1 ![]() Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - DanSteph - 26-01-2008 Quote:PBR1 wrote: Correct, it will allow to edit current voicepack. The beta will be released here and I hope will become almost final as the version will be debugged so it's a kind of "release" but it will not be "officially" released before FsPX. (It will be also in the release of FsP2004 Patch 2) Update: still working on "voicepack utility" GUI and feature, I hope to get it almost working for end of week. Cheers, Dan Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - xandan - 26-01-2008 things seem to becoming along nicely now and coming along alot faster too which is always good =D keep it up!!!
