Re: FS10 - SWAFO - 04-08-2005

Sorry jbower... I posted real world values. I've never really noticed when ATIS becomes audible in FS, and just guessed it was around the
same.

Re: FS10 - fpborges - 04-08-2005

Well, you can plan your descent to the last fix before the STAR/IAF, and check it then... I usually do that, and on long flights you have no
choice anyway, because conditions change. It doesn't make that big a difference on fuel planning, either.

Cheers,
FPB

Re: FS10 - nevinch - 04-08-2005

My father still running FS98...he fired it up for me a few months ago and I almost died from laughing so hard. But, for him that's what he
prefers and who am I to tell him there is an improved version.

FS9 to me is incredible and I am completely enamored by the fantastic add-ons that add to the enjoyment level. From an historical
perspective I think is where FS9 really shines! Take a look and see how long you've been playin this sim....as for me my first experience
was with 2.0.

hang on, fs9 added a lot. Well....

When I look at fs8 and at fs9 i see better clouds in deed, better weather BUT I don't see any of these improvements:

- AI is really crazy:

The other day landing my a320 in EGLL a bloody small 737 passed over me as I wasn't existed.
How many problems do you have with the really stupid AI waiting to depart??
How many goings around you do a week because this AI traffic takes ages to clear off the runway? hahaha lol. Really, they don't give a
s***t, they take their time. Slowly slowly, careful darling I don't want to drop my tea

This is the best one!!!
You've just lost an engine, afterwards you start to lose altitute, and then the bloody controller starts asking you

IBERIA XXXX. Please ascend and maintain FL330.

And you are kind of. WHAT THE ****??? Don't you see I don't have an engine. Of course she doesn't. THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN
DECLARE AN EMERGENCY. However, the lady don't care and carry on telling you CLIMB CLIMB TO FL330. You get upset, you can't do
nothing at all, and your plane keeps going down till the bloody idiot insists saying:
IBERIA XXXX. Could you please confirm last transmition?
Then it's when I press the HEAVEN buttom of my computer and then I start all over again.

Why is there no way to know the active runway of the aiport so you can plan your approach during cruise level??

Why is there no cars at the road?? (heheheh Asking for a little bit more you know)

flight simulator has to improve. PLEASE GIVE TO THE AI A LITTLE MORE OF BRAIN!!! Anyways, we will always ask for more.

Best Regards!

Your post is quite ignorant. What are you trying to do? Prove me wrong? You can't deny the fact that FS9 improved over FS8 quite a bit,
and added a lot of new features. The things you mention (you go on and on about AI Traffic), aren't really things that MS would add, just
minor improvements they would make.

You want cars on the road? Make your own textures with cars on the road, or download some! I've got some, and guess what? I NEVER
NOTICE THE DAMN CARS WHEN I'M TRYING TO LAND MY 737!!!

You wanna plan your approach while cruising? You can hear the ATIS transmission at 50-100NM out, and if you're not happy with that,
why don't you set the wind conditions manually, therefore KNOWING what runway is in use.

I'm sorry, but MSFS is a GAME, and always has been a GAME! You're bickering to the wrong people about the minor improvements you
want to see. You want a GAME that fits your liking? Make ONE! Stop buying Microsoft's products if all you're going to do is bitch about
them! You say you have FS8? Ok, go back to flying FS8, then we'll see how you come crawling back to FS9 saying you love it! Microsoft
has come a far way since their first version of FS, and we can only expect them to go FURTHER. However, any further is an added
bonus. Like the simulator for what it is, and stop bitching about every little thing, or don't post in this forum. We don't like you constant
complainers!

Hang on a minute!!

Come on guys!! Didn't you see I was sarcastic in that message. I am sorry if I got you upset, i didn't mean to. First of all, don't call me
ignorant cause this is a forum and that's why is called forum. The people give their oppinions and wishes. I am not trying to put down
microsoft flight simulator. Otherwise I love it. It's been my game or simulator (whatever you want to name it) since its beginning. But I am
sorry, I still don't agree with you about difference between fs9 and fs2002. That's my opinion and you don't have to get that crazy at me
mate cause it's just an OPINION and a stupid joke.
Didn't happen to you before right? Fine, you are lucky. Everytime it happened to me I was swearing at the
controller but in the end I was laughing at it cause its funny and that was supposed to be my message. A funny situation created by the
stupid ATC from MS fs9. That's it. Nothing else

My most sincerelly appologises at you Brad, I didn't mean to put that in this way.

Friends??Beer

Re: FS10 - AeroJim - 05-08-2005

well, that was one hell of a emoticon at the end, i agree, sometimes controller can be aggravating, but it is one hell of a game, and
considering they added that much in a two year period, im lookin foward to fs10

Re: FS10 - SWAFO - 05-08-2005

Notice that I didn't say YOU were ignorant, I said YOUR POST was ignorant. lol. I wasn't trying to attack you in
anyway, just strongly
disagreing with you... no biggie.

No need to apologize either, it is a forum, and you're allowed to freely discuss any topics you want... notice
however that if you disagree
with me, I will delete your post... lol... jk.

We're on the same page, I guess we're ok now... Thanks for the beer Drunk LOL

Re: FS10 - aibiria - 05-08-2005

Wink. No worries.!!!!

Thanks for your answer back.!!!

By the way, About the little cars I am fancy for. I don't know if you remember in fs95 or fs98 I am not sure. We had those little lights on the
road. That's what i meant. Microsoft has taken them off since fs2000 I think. I would like to have that in future fs10. But you are right in one
thing.

I fly with PSS A320 and you know how looks the IFR panel. I mean, you can't see anything so basically what for all the great scenary?? In
a IFR approach you are too busy to have a look at the cars on the road Smile

But as i said in my previous message. We will never be happy cause we are humans beings are we are like that. I have to say that for the
£50 flight simulator costs is a real great job!!

Have a good flight!!!

Re: FS10 - AeroJim - 05-08-2005

Actually, i started playing FS since the 2000 edition, and as i far as i know they still have the little lights moving on the road/

My first flight sim was Fs98. I still remember it fondly, and how bummed I was that all it came with for a manual was that little book of charts. I
was new to flight sims, flying, and had just gotten my first computer. It had been at least 7 or 8 years since I had used a computer. Last one I used
was monochrome. I didnt know what I those charts were for or how to use them. Anyway I got lost on fond old memories.

Re: FS10 - DBE - 06-08-2005

Well, I remember standing in a shop around 1988 drooling at an Amstrad PC512 (yes, it only came with 512Kb RAM!) running FS 3.0!

It took a while to save up the 2'000$, but it was worth every cent!

So I'm telling you, between:

and

...my dream has basically come true! Wink

Re: FS10 - SE-TMA - 07-08-2005

I am going to sound like a REALLY old man now, but I'm only 24. My first Flight Sim experience was JET for the 8088 PC. It ran a massive 7,5 MHz
processor and 256 Kb RAM. Later, my dad got hold of Flight Sim 1.0 and we flew it like forever :P. Loved the combat WW2 simulation in FS 1.0. I've
flown almost all the FS that MS has released. With exception of the latest ones. I missed 2000 and 2002, otherwise, I've flown them all.

Wonders of having a dad that's sold on Flight Sims Wink Now, I'm old enough to have bought my own :P. I was only seven years old when dad guided me
through my first flight....err....crash...anyhow, been flying all the time since then Wink

Re: FS10 - DBE - 07-08-2005

"JET", hehehe: yes, I remember that one as well.

Was kinda weird flying around with a magenta ground and cyan sky, but the thrills were real, even then! Wink

I personally thought that the wierdest thing was that you could launch your AMRAAMs from the runway and kill 2-3 of the default opponents before
takeoff :P. Ah, those were the days Wink
