Baaah... it's 0055Z now, I'm tired, I just came from a little party and I didn't want to drink too much since I want to fill out the forms correctly...
now I'm sitting here waiting for those damn servers to come up again... *sigh*
poor little me ;-)

Greetings
Felix

I know....if they put a notice saying check back after 0030z they should update their information once time has elapsed!!! I wonder just
what it is they're doing....adding another RAID to their system, adding another processor, memory or what have you? The only thing I
could see taking this long would be adding disk space......or heck maybe they're bringing more whole servers into production.

Well, I was finally able to purchase this plane. First impression is quite good. Am a little nervous about the crackling audio...probably
just means I need a better soundcard or tweaking of the current one.

But, wow looking forward to coming home and flying this beauty tonight!!!

Sorry about that.....I saw they took the server down again....that is unbelievable. Some advice, when you finally do get it if you're using XP
SP2 be sure to set your IE security level to Medium-Low....on the instructions they say Medium but I couldn't get the link to download....XP
kept rejecting it. But, medium low will allow you to download the file.

Well, I'm going to go try it now and see firsthand whether it can get along with FsP....got my fingers crossed!!!

Re: RUN, DON'T WALK TO PMDG WEBSITE!!!! - nevinch - 04-08-2005

I wouldn't mind seeing a good 380 sim...that might be fun. But I'm a Boeing guy all the way....what I really want to see....and you'll laugh
because it hasn't even made it's maiden voyage in real life yet....but the 787. That'll be a FUN plane to fly....love the design too....very sleek.

Anyways, about 200-300 mi E of Seattle now in my company's new 744......holy smokes this is one detailed plane. The 2d panel may
deceive you...don't let it...their is so much to this plane I can't even begin to get my head around it!!

Well, flew it all the way from Seattle to JFK in New York. Very smooth takeoff and cruize. Set up for my approach and all was well until
decision height. I did not expect a/p to disconnect itself at decision height...I usually disconnect on my own. Anyways, all sorts of bells
and whistles start going off and now I'm floating over a 8400' runway...I realize there is no way I'm going to make the landing so I set up
for a go around.

This is where it got very interesting. Apparently, I didn't put in enough reserve fuel so by the time I turned base for the localizer intercept
again all sorts of warnings go off and this time I lose both outboard engines. WTF???? I look and sure enough I starved my engines of
fuel......I quickly go and tap into my reserves in order to keep both inboard engines running and set up for another approach....hand flying
this time.

About 5 mi from the runway Engine 3 runs out of fuel so you can pretty much figure out what happened after that. So angry but still very
pleased by the detail in this plane. The nose is yawed about 20-30 degrees away from the one operating engine....and that was that. It's
pretty much devastated my company.....it would have cost more to repair it than to buy a brand new one. But, there were 8 survivors....glad
someone got through it ok. Hunappy

As in real life, this plane is a major fuel hog...so beware...plan well before flying this.
